Just ordered my Vaperstek liter of nic!! I'm set for at least a couple of years, I figure. Guess I better get more bottles to divvy it up for the freezer. Does the spending never end????

Look at it this way, once you get stocked up you won't be spending as much. With the cigs you were always having to buy. Same with pre-made ejuice. If you're spending less than what you were you are coming out ahead. At least that's what I tell my wife...

Yep, that's what I figured when I started vaping, yet there always seems to be that one more thing, that cool, new mod, a recipe for which I don't have a particular flavor, all the flavors I have to order to make freight, and the beat goes on.

'Still thankful to be free of ciggies, so I've got that going for me ....

Yeah, just I like I always say "this will be the last order."

There's never a "last" order. Just ordered Amber bottles to divvy up the nic. Thank goodness for Amazon and prime!

When you get your bottles in for your nic storage, do you clean them and what do you clean them with?

I didn't have to clean the ones from Packaging Options Direct. But if they did need cleaning I'd just stick them in the dishwasher!

How would you know? I bought bottles before. They had no smell and seemed to be completely empty.

I hate to play cryptkeeper with this thread but I have a related question.
I get that freezing is the prefered storage method, but thats not really an option for me. My kids are... well lets just say nosey. Id like to think they know better, but Ive called poison control and taken kids to hospitals for things far less dangerous than 100mg nicotine. I just cant trust them, and to be honest, its the reason Ive put off DIY as long as I have. My only option is to keep it in my gunsafe where I know little hands (and throats) stay out of it.

How long can I expect the nic to survive like this? Ive started with smaller nic for this reason (120ml).

If your kids are little but reading age label it asparagus or liver or something else you know they can't stand. I do appreciate your precautions. Better safe than sorry with the kids.

Good call, it's best to be safe. Other than freezing, you can mix less often(once a month or so) so that you shake and open the bottle less often that will help. Going with a small bottle was a good idea.

I don't think anyone can say how long it will stay good for sure but it should last a few months.

I agree with the lockbox idea if your really set on storing it long term.
Are your kids curious enough to pull everything out of the freezer to see whats in the very back?

It's pretty easy to get a small metal lockbox that could hold a dozen or more 30ml bottles. That way you could get a 240ml, separate it, and store it. Bury it in the *back* of the freezer and once a month, mix a months worth of eliquid. Even better if you have a chest freezer. Put it on the very bottom.

lol, label it 'Eye Of Newt' ... :D

As long as it's not subjected to heat and/or direct light it should be fine; I'm thinking you will probably use it up before it starts to go 'south'. It will continue to oxidize of course but not enough to make it unusable, IMO. I once let a bottle of nic sit out for more than 6 months and I still used it. The color was more yellow than it had been but I didn't find the taste to be affected significantly. I would recommend putting it in colored glass however if you haven't already, that will help lessen the oxidation.

Disclaimer: I am not a super taster so if you are, you might be more sensitive to oxidized nicotine than I am.
