Nintendo's profits are down 61 percent.
The news comes via the company’s latest financial results, which confirmed Nintendo's net profit for the fiscal year ending on March 31 was ¥16.5 billion ($149 million USD), down from ¥41.8 billion a year earlier. The company had anticipated a profit of ¥17 billion.
Nintendo's digital sales, however, netted ¥44 billion in the same period, which is up from ¥31 billion. The company's new "Smart devices, IP related income" category -- which includes revenue generated by smartphones -- secured ¥5.7 billion.
The report also confirms "the figure-type and the card-type" Amiibos sold approximately 24.70 million and 28.90 million units respectively.
