Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis has dashed any hopes of a new instalment in the series in this, the 30th anniversary of the first film's release.
Speaking to IGN whilst promoting his new film, The Walk, we asked him whether he had any new Back to the Future ideas that could be told in the universe to which the Oscar-winning writer and director gave a resounding, dream-crushing, "No".
He went on to say "We've done a trilogy, the movies turned out really well and those are the only Back to the Future stories we have left in us".
This latest news for fans of the series comes less than a month before the 21st of October 2015, a day made famous in Back to the Future 2 as the day that Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) arrives in the future.
