No clouds??? new Subbox mini

So i just bought this subox mini kit from a store, seemed slightly shady to me that it was an open box and up for display i asked and the guy said it was brand new.

so I'm trying when i hit it i barely get any clouds even at 40watts. the coil was properly submerged etc.
the only thing I'm thinking is the airflow looks broken? or not set right? I'm a total noob and i just want to make sure i didn't get ripped off.

is there a way to adjust it or thats how it is? as you can see in the pictures the airflow is not fully opened there is a slight block

No saying a lot of variables to consider. If it flat out is no worky take it back to the shop for a replacement.

I just got one of those too, mine works fine though. I was a mouth to lung hitter, are you the same or do you lung hit? If the air holes aren't adjustable that is a problem. Power and airflow help create clouds.

Is the air ring stopped in one of its ball spring detents? I mean does it click and lock into all three open positions and one completely closed position? Can you blow freely through it? That thing should be burning cotton at 40 watts!
Battery?

Check that your OCC coil unit is properly tightened down and make sure your airflow assembly isn't full of juice. Try a different coil unit to make sure that the one installed isn't defective.
