Noob dyi ejuice idea?

Been vaping since April 2015. Have learned a lot. Am currently using ipv d2 mod, have pair of LG HG2 batteries, Nitecore D2 charge, pair of Lemo 2 rta's. Am done rebuilding Protank 2 coil heads, that came with my no-longer-functioning Apollo Valiant vv/vw battery. My Taifun was a serious introduction to flavor, a bit improved with a GT base. Also done with the shockingly disappointing Eleaf tc40, even though it does work. Now it's time to be done buying local vape shop juices...almost.

One of my favorite juices is called Sweet Teddies from a local shop Craving Vapes.
30pg/70vg, 3mg nic.

Here's my idea. Feel free to tear it up, or say it might work.

What if I got a 30ml bottle of that Sweet Teddies, but had it mixed to 50pg/50vg, 6mg nic, maybe +2 flavor boost...then combined it with 30ml of VG from...oh, anywhere, maybe even amazon? Would it come out to something like 25pg/75vg, 3mg nic...and be vapeable? If not, if so...should I be concerned about whether Craving Vapes uses pg-based nic/flavor or vg-based nic/fla?

Thank you for any and all replies.

Sounds reasonable to me, but I don't know about your final vg pg percentages. You would cut your nic in half, but I'm not sure about how diluted the flavor would become. If you're willing to eat the cost of a bottle if it doesn't work, go for it. I know great juice can be pricey. If it works out, youve figured out a way to stretch your favorite juice. If not, youre out the cost of one bottle and lesson learned.

I suspect many of us (more than will admit) started this way.

But a solid answer for you would be, you'll notice a reduced flavor and Nic. Many "plus" boost are only .25ml in additional flavoring. Even if the recipe started with 4.

I vaped a really sweet juice that I cut with straight VG for a long time. It worked for me, because I can't do extremely sweet juices.

Your mileage may vary.

Thanks a lot guys. Fairly neutral responses. Just what I was hoping for. I'll probably give it a try. At least it will get me started in the world of mixing while allowing me to keep learning...without buying some dyi starter kit that would result in my not ever using half of the stuff in the kit. Will report back.

Between now and starting this experiment I'll try to make the decision of adding either a fully reciprocal 30ml of VG, or maybe just 15ml-20ml...as well as try to remember to ask the store about whether they use pg or vg based nic/flavor.

The weekly special at the store has 30ml for $10. Another flavor at a different store has 30ml for $8. Even if my plan/scheme gives best results when adding merely 20ml of VG, that gives me 50ml at $8-$10...from local shop...much more doable until I read up more and dive in deeper.

Thanks again.

Why don't you try it on a smaller scale? Instead of the whole bottle, do 5 ml juice plus 5 ml vg, and try 5 ml juice and 2.5 vg. That might give you an answer without using the entire bottle.

Awesome, thanks, is exactly what I'll probably do. I think I can get a cheap syringe at local pharmacy...already have quart of VG ordered, along with 50ml and 125ml flasks, and 50ml cylinder, and mini funnel.. Started thinking last night. Have figured out the math that determines final ratios depending on ratios used in mix. Some day might/will research calculators and choose one. Lemo 2 is, I think, suppose to be 4.5ml or 3.8ml...whatever...will mix up tank-sized batches, probably right at your suggested 5ml (store-bought base) as carefully as I can and see what happens.

To add to this.

I originally cut, to save money. I started experimenting with flavors by placing a few drops of another flavor of juice with the juice I had in the tank already.

It's a lousy way to experiment. But you quickly get an idea of flavors that won't play well together.

Muahahaha!

Purchased some VG... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C7MTLA?refRID=PMVYNWN6RRVS6VBP87NF&ref_=pd_ys_sf_s_rp_a1_1_p

...and a 30ml bottle of Sweet Teddies from local vape shop...50/50, 6mg nic, +5 flavor boost...$10.

Mixed the bottle with 20ml of the VG. Very happy with resulting 50ml of pretty good stuff. The Teddies is a fairly strong flavor in basic mix, graham cracker and I think some vanilla and cinnamon...nice sweet custardy taste. Can definitely enjoy what it turned out to be. Vaping on 20ml of my concoction and will let the 30ml steep.

From date of OP to now, I've concluded that all the math involved in determining what my mixed result would be when starting with a store-baught 30ml bottle is more trouble than just getting some nic, flavor and starting my life as a diy e-juice mixer.

Thanks everyone! :)

PS: Have a nic sample on the way... http://www.nudenicotine.com/nicotine-sample-request/

...will prob just get PG from nic and flavors as I enjoy 30pg/70vg juice...or something like that

Once you find out the cost of decent vg and pg with flavor and nic you are 1000% offended by anyone selling juice at a 1500% mark up.
