Noob Help

Hello!

A little bit of background, I was vaping about a year ago and had a vaping pen with an iClear 16 tank. I absolutely hated it! It leaked all the time, it was a hassle getting the juice in it, I never knew what the battery level was. It was just a mess. I decided that I wanted to vape again. I went to the store with specifics. I wanted a top fill and I wanted something with a battery meter. I ended up purchasing a Dovpo Executive 5.0 and a Furytank 2 (.3 and .2 ohms). I was not able to ask all of the questions that I needed to ask while I was there, which is what brought me here. It would be great if someone could answer the following, I am not able to find these answers anywhere..keep in mind I don't vape to create massive clouds or anything like that, I just want to quit smoking and it worked before.

1. What wattage should I be running? Right now I am running 29 and all seems fine. Is going to a lower wattage going to hurt anything? Is there a reason I would want to go higher than that unless I'm looking for bigger clouds?

2. The Ohm meter on the display says .39, but it's a .3 ohm coil, why would this be wrong?

3. Do I need to worry about anything with this or are there safeties that will not allow this thing to blow up or catch fire?

4. It's weird, when I was vaping before, I would vape the same way that I would smoke. Draw in, inhale, and then exhale. With this I have to inhale as I'm drawing in or it chokes me. Is this normal?

IMO you got the wrong tank. After a short bit of research, the Fury is a sub ohm tank like a Kanger subtank. It is a lung hit tank, not a MTL. (which was the style you vaped before).

I'd suggest getting a Nautilus tank, so you can do MTL again.

1 Likely you need to run where you are at. Lower wattage will produce less vapor and likely will kill you coils.
2 It's normal for you Ohm's to be off a little bit.
3 It's a changeable battery mod. I don't normally recommend using on board chargers. Instead I recommend buying and using a good charger, Like a Nitecore, LUC or similar. Some folk have had issues with charging on the mod, rather than using a charger.
4 That's because the dimwits at the shop set you up with a direct lung tank, not a MTL tank.

Your mod seem like a pretty nice device. I'd just get a tank that suits your style of vaping better.

Thanks for the quick reply!

What you're saying about MTL makes sense. I might be able to deal with a direct lung hit as long as it doesn't leak. Apparently from what I've found online, it really doesn't leak. Being a top filler is also a huge plus for me.

So if I did get another tank, that wasn't sub ohm, will it work with the setup I have? Do I just need to keep the wattage lower? Or is it best to stay with sub ohm?

I see all these warnings about using specific batteries and volts and watts. I just don't want to do something stupid and cause the thing to blow up while I'm using it. Or are their safeties built in to this to prevent that?

Yes, a MTL tank will work on your DOVPO mod. You'll likely want to lower your watts though, as the coils will likely be higher ohms.

Sub ohming is for people that are direct lung hitting. MTL vapers run 1.0+ ohms.

The battery "stuff" is about using quality batteries with a 20 amp continuous discharge. Most recommend LG's or Samsungs, sometimes Sony's.

In general, regulated mods, like you have, have safeties built in to avoid problems. However, with a replaceable battery, it IS important to use a quality battery cell.
