:)I bought Oba Oba over a year ago and never used it. Or don't remember using it. I must have saw a recipe that piqued my interest. I need this thread!:)
We will get there. I’m very busy right now so I’m trying to juggle mixing with all the other stuff. It’s a lot. I’ve got my staple recipes that I love vaping I just tried another coffee ice cream last night it didn’t work I don’t think. We will see. I am going to tackle this oba oba dilemma over a pot of coffee and Sunday morning.

Alright, I'm opening this back up here for some more work. I NEED to make a coffee ice cream. I also would like to use some oba oba, but coffee ice cream is way more important. Now that the challenge is over, let's get this going.

I will be working on this tonight.

Oba oba is a European candy bar, made by dos en uno,it's wrapper has chocolate enveloped marshmallow written on wrapper in Spanish I assume.there are probably other varieties but couldn't find too much more .someone with stronger Google fu may have more luck.
Ps I don't get any chocolate from Fa oba oba it tastes like the shell of a smartie(UK) to me.
Just found another by a company called Arcor which lists vanilla as well .

I think chocolate could go well with oba oba actually. I need to give it a retest. Pull out the SFT I did on it way back and give a good retaste to refresh my memory of it.

It does. Kinda marshmallow. Cream soda(without the bubbles). And it makes a great candy shell at 3%. Like the candy shell on an m&m....not the chocolate part, just the shell. I haven’t played with it enough. From what I’ve read, it goes well with tobaccos, citrus, vanilla, creams.....it’s a good blender down low. HIC uses it quite a bit.

So citrus, huh. What are you thinking?
I'm tasting this today for the first time. What it reminds me of is Mentos. Not the minty Mentos, but the fruity ones. Have you ever eaten that candy? It actually has a hard shell kind of thing on the outside.

The F'd up thing for me is that..... I still have NO idea what recipe I bought Oba Oba for. -Presumably there must be some recipe that HIC or WLLMC posted in the past; their recipes are ALWAYS good. :)

Hics teddy bear custard
Hics brutti ma buoni
Hics creamy strawberry malt
Hics tropical smoothie factory

Im' sure there are more from hic. And I can't think of any from wllmc but I'm sure others can help too .
BTW brutti ma buoni is one of my favourite mixes ever, from anyone and beats all vendor juices I have tried.sweet and nutty and complex. Can you tell tell I'm a hicaholic yet?

I am thinking that FA Pear with a little WF ripe pear and some oba oba for a candy coating then adding some caramel.

Caramel Candy Pear - i guess I'd go something like this.
WF Ripe Pear 1%
FA Pear 1%
Oba Oba - .5%
FA Caramel - 1.25%
Cap Caramel - 1.25%
PUR marshmallow - 1.5%

So I really like the WF and FA Pear combo. Gives a nice realistic pear texture and flavor. If you have every had the Jelly Belly Pear jelly bean you know what I mean. Those things are amazing. They really have that gritty pear texture and realistic flavor. Oba Oba at a low % gives a nice candy shell and adds some sweetness and texture as well. FA and CAP caramel at those % give a really great caramel range the FA has the harder burnt notes and the CAP has a nice gooey buttery caramel feel together they form our sauce. PUR Marshmallow is the best marshmallow around IMO and not only adds body but gives the caramel a gooey thick texture and mouthfeel that is really darn good. I haven't mixed this yet, but in theory I think it looks great. Will try it when I get a chance. I'm not at my place this week, I'm staying at a family members and dog sitting so I don't have my flavor arsenal on hand.

Fa pear is great, I bet that will be good
I based my %'s based on stuff I read somewhere.
5% Oba Oba and 3% Pear.
I hadn't had either flavor, so it's hard to go too far with judgements on this com.. But, that said, it's pleasing. Kind of a dessert/fruit combo. But specifically what it tastes like is illusive for me.

alright so I am reviving this to get some opinions. I've got some pandoro coming in today and I want to make like a nice dense lemon cake with some of that hard iced frosting. Do you think that some oba oba at 0.5% would do the trick and harden up the frosting into a sweet candylike one?
