Ohms and Watts

When using an RDA at 0.5ohms should I run no more than 30watts max? Sorry if this is a dead horse I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what the optimal wattage is for 0.5. I currently have it set at 50watts but obviously that is to much.

Also can I get an explanation as to why you should only run X amount of watts for Y amount of OHMS?

Ok, First Airflow is KING when it comes to how hot you can vape (higher wattage). If you are using an RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) with tons of airflow and you are lung hitting your mod (taking the vapor directly into your lungs) than you can usually go to 60-100 watts comfortably. It has more to do with airflow than it does ohms. The tanks coming out these days have more air flow than the older ones, so you can vape at higher wattages but they're still limited by airflow. My Arctic Subtank can run at 50-60 watts with no problem because it has massive airflow, but I will never get my Kanger subtank over 30 watts. Hope that helps.

I am a lung hitter and have a Dark Horse RDA its set at the 2nd largest airflow. Thank you for the info. Its greatly appreciated

Like mentioned above, Airflow, Chamber Size, Coils, Wicking, and Juice are key factors and depending how warm you like to vape suggests how much power you want to use. Ive pushed .8 Ohm builds higher then 60 watts and got a great vape but the airflow was wide open (almost breathe through) and wick was short, had to redrip every few hits. Ive also had .2 Ohm builds as ADV and only pushed them with 40-50 watts, Airflow was tighter and wicking was long and submerged in the drip well. It's all subjective and all depends on the RDA/Build you have. Experience with different setups and fun with trial and error will help you decide on what you want.
