Ohms tester needed or not with Sigelei 100w plus

Hey everyone. im going to be buying the Sigelei 100w plus and am curious if i should buy an ohms tester with it. because i believe the device itself already does it? should i get a tester or not?

An Ohm meter/build box provides a handy build platform... if you're a rebuilder. Down side is that many of the inexpensive build boxes have an Ohm meter that may be less accurate than the one fit to your 100w.

The lower the resistance, the more critical it becomes that your meter is capable of not just reading milliohms, but actual milliohm accuracy.

If you trust your Sigelei... there are several coil build fixtures available with a 510 thread on the flat side... that you can screw your atty into, functioning as a build platform.

thanks for the replys! and i rebuild all the time haha (little off topic sorry) best coil i have ever build was a .2 ohm parallel that was so much of a cloud chaser, yet a guzzler i had to rid it. anyways thanks and i guess ill take the meter off the list! save the $15.

What he said. But for $10 you can pick up one of these...

An ohm's tester (resistance meter) is designed to do that one job. The meter in the device is not. Not only does a checker help you verify that you did not just build a dead short...but it can be utilised to compare readings against your device. First gen Siggy 100w boxes, as well as Hana clones had dodgy chips that reported resistance incorrectly...the issue with that is...if the device is reading resistance incorrectly...the rest of the math will be off as well.....in some cases, this can lead to catastrophic results.

I agree with @franciscan ...all my china boxes read slightly off....I even have an Ohm's meter that at first I swore by but have learned that it reads .04 higher than actual resistance when compared to a second ohm's meter I bought for safety as well as my DNA40. point being it's better two check twice and vape once than short/overload and burn a battery out or worse....the lower you go below .2 especially a .01 difference can cause a huge jump in amps drain off of a battery

This. Just got my Sig 100 in along with a few RDAs, after a quick alcohol bath for the cleanest-looking one I wrapped up some new coils and threw it on a meter I bought from a trusted/frequently-VJ-pimped source - 0.18. Sig is reading it at 0.3. Better safe than sorry, I'll stay away from the super-high load testing for now...but damn I love that Sig!

Lol, the Sig is probably the more accurate of the two.

My Sig is accurate when tested against the Fluke multimeter (subtracting the built in resistance). I've had two of the cheap black plastic box ohm readers, both were P'sOS. Also, if there is a short, the Sig will say "check atomizer", and won't fire.
