Wouldn't doubt it, your luck just keeps on keeping on....TV signal lost. If I suddenly become totally non-responsive, you'll know my power is out too.

Yup, nothing prettier than a golf course in the right location.Yeah, about 5 acres to mow regularly gets pretty tiresome, but it sure looks good when I get it done.
I think a week is the max we've had to endure, but the ranches about 20 miles west of us went for three months a few years back when about 20 miles of power poles were shattered. Most big ranchers have large generators, but that's still a pain in the ass.Ever have an electrical outage for a long period of time?
Holy shit, damn that is a long time, hopefully it wasn't during winter months.I think a week is the max we've had to endure, but the ranches about 20 miles west of us went for three months a few years back when about 20 miles of power poles were shattered. Early Fall blizzard with winds about 80 mph, 100,000 cows killed -- buried in snow (they were still in their Summer pastures)...Holy shit, damn that is a long time, hopefully it wasn't during winter months.
Yep, that is the true definition of a bad storm.Early Fall blizzard with winds about 80 mph, 100,000 cows killed -- buried in snow (they were still in their Summer pastures)...
Indeed, I've never heard anything about it, and always tried to stay somewhat current on what's going on. But lately with all the "Fake News" is becomes troublesome to sort it out, therefore I don't pay much attention any longer. Not only did the huge losses piss me off, but the total lack of news coverage. If the wind is over 30 mph on the east coast, the news people update the whole country about their terrible plight every few minutes and don't quit talking about it for weeks. That storm here got a few minutes one fucking day. Not just cows, but some people died, but shit, it is just South Dakota and us hicks don't matter at all...
In the big city, if a tiny limb breaks off a tree and scratches the neighbor's car, it is national news. Here, a whole tree can be ripped out of the ground and totally smash the neighbor's roof in (which is miles away) and you will never hear a word about it. The entire state population here is less than one city on the east coast, so we don't have the votes or the financial power to be newsworthy. If North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, or Kansas (with maybe the exception of Omaha and Kansas City) were to be removed from the planet, the rest of this country would not care.I've never heard anything about it,
Good night, Dale. Catch ya later.Have a good one, I'm outta here.
Oh My Gawd! You're supposed to wash them? I just thought it was natural for that shiny silver truck I bought six years ago to turn brown...Stopped at the carwash
Yeah, gave the truck a treat, so I could see what color it actually is too. It's not brown like the dust blowing around here continually as you know.....damn that shit is relentless. You would think the desert dirt issue would be much less than it was 10-20 yrs ago since the nearest open desert is about 5 miles from here. But the wind carries it no matter where you are.Oh My Gawd! You're supposed to wash them? I just thought it was natural for that shiny silver truck I bought six years ago to turn brown...
Yeah, I know that drill. And on top of that, I will get a POS from a credit card company to Rich Amber and on the same day, one to someone they think is named Amber Rich..even from credit card companies I've had their cards for decades
Seems like most of the posts you make regarding recalls involve India in some fashion....Amazing, isn't it? I think no one in the USA makes any of this shit. Seems that anyone taking any prescription is consuming Asian poison.
That's a fact, and if it wasn't extremely deadly, they wouldn't even botherNo one from India would recall their poison unless told to do so or lose their licenses.
Yes and no. Today was monthly shopping day. I drove into the rain about 30 miles SW of home, then was in and out, including thunderstorms, the remainder of the day. It was cloudy here at home, but Lannie said it didn't rain. It also only got to 78 here and my truck's readout said it was 85 in Rapid City just before the thunderstorm. I was on the road today (or in a store) for over 9 hours and am totally wasted.Get more rain today?
9 hrs of running around, I can see why your shot. Speaking of, so I'm I....and have two jobs tomorrow....have a good one.Yes and no. Today was monthly shopping day. Looks like power might be out tonight again.........About 10 minutes after the last post last night, there was a BOOM that shook the whole house. OK, a thunderstorm, but a nasty one (weather guessers called it a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING, but well after the fact). I went upstairs to close all the windows before coming back down to log off (which I never got to do). The rain was torrential (probably another 2 inches during the night) and wind was 35-40 with gusts estimated over 60 mph. I have to replace the rope on the flag pole today and the flag too because it is all ripped up now. Anyway... the super bright lightning and WW3 thunder woke Lannie up, then the lights went out. I took a flashlight and went out to call the power company to report the outage (of course it was a recording and you just have to leave a message). The power didn't come back on until 3:30 AM and Lannie didn't get any more sleep until then (worried about the animals and all). Then this morning, the power went off again and the call to the power company told us several poles and lines were down and as soon as they got all that fixed we'd have power again. OK. I am here now, so obviously we have power, and the sky is clear blue and almost calm as far as wind. Go figure...
Oh I hope not. That is always such a pain in the ass.Looks like power might be out tonight again
82 here today with only scattered clouds (tiny stratocumulus and a bit of high cirrus). Stars showing at the moment and you'd think we'd be cool, but at 60% RH, it is sticky. No thunderstorms tonight (or so they say), but we might have some in the morning with about 20% chance of more fucking rain (the barns have been muddy for two months longer than I have ever seen before).was below 100 this afternoon
Then you should probably put your poor lids in bed. And try to have some dreams about a relaxing vacation where you don't have to work your ass off every day. I try that now and then but I know it is a ridiculous fantasy. You, at least, can fly down to see Eli...it's hard keeping the lids open.
The blades are held on below the deck with a big nut, so unless that came off, which would probably cause the blade to come off too, that likely is not it. Above the deck, I think the pulley is pinned to the shaft that drives the blade, so if that broke, the pulley wouldn't turn (or not much anyway), so the blade under that pulley wouldn't turn (much). Another possibility is that something (a piece of limb) is stuck in that pulley and binding it, which would cause the belt to slip on the pulley. Ask Eli if there is a smell of smoke (burning rubber). If she puts a weight in the seat, she can stand off to the side with the cutting deck in operation and observe what is happening, but this is potentially dangerous if the observer gets too close or puts hands/feet close while observing. This can also be done with a mirror on a stick so she can sit in the seat while observing that pulley.what would cause one blade to stop spinning on the Cadet?
Just go to the CubCadet web site and look at all their online manuals. I think you told me you bought the 42" deck and I suspect they use the same decks across all tractor models. You can buy any of their models with various deck sizes, so the deck size will be your key to the pulley/belt configuration.I don't have the manual or jack shit,
Yeah, it the 42".....I didn't have time to talk to her this afternoon. I told her I would call in the morning when I could think a little clearer. I'll ask those questions, for all I know it may have come off, but I would think that would have caused all kinds of commotion, like lots of noise. The blades are held on below the deck with a big nut, so unless that came off, which would probably cause the blade to come off too, that likely is not it. I have had a blade come off many years ago and all the sound I heard was the same as if I just hit a rock (which is probably what I did - I used to mow a lot of lava back in central Orygun). If you hit things regularly (rocks, big branches) it can loosen that nut, and if you don't routinely check that, it can just fall off. Usually, even if it doesn't make a lot of noise, you will see the blade lying on the ground. Also, she should look at her mowed path and see where it was that the left side stopped being cut. That might be where the blade is on the ground, or if it was right after mowing through a really brushy area, it could be where the pulley was fouled (clogged/jammed). Good luck.it may have come off, but I would think that would have caused all kinds of commotion, like lots of noise.
Wasn't to bad here, not sure what the temp was but it had to be below normal....keep that shit coming.Forecast this morning: Partly cloudy, possible thunderstorms in area, high of 88, precipitation chance 10%, light breeze (around 10 mph).
Reality: Thick fog (visibility less than 50 yards), wind 20-25 mph, constant drizzle until just after noon (100% RH outside), then clearing a bit, drizzle stopped, fog broke into patches, high got up to 86 °F with RH of 90% (heat index = 105 °F). Inside the house, however, it got up to 87°F with 79% RH (heat index = 102 °F). What little we did today, both inside and outside, was so sweaty we could barely see where we were going.

Haven't paid any attention....been to busy to care. Altho I do care about Jimi.Hey Dale, this is like the fourth day in a row where you and I are the only people posting anything here. Where the hell did everyone go?
I'm not sure what the ol-addy did, but she had someone fix the mower. I asked her to take a couple pictures yesterday, but she forgot....sighI have had a blade come off many years ago and all the sound I heard was the same as if I just hit a rock (which is probably what I did - I used to mow a lot of lava back in central Orygun).
