Manufactured homes (e.g. mobile homes) in trailer parks... the things tornadoes and hurricanes love the most to disassemble and send to the next state.
Yeap, if your near the middle of the state it's not much of a deal. Friend of mine has been down there for about 15 yrs....he bought the cheapest place he could find, cuz he doesn't do anything inside expect sleep and eat (indoors) once in awhile.

It was about 73 and sunny.......:)
Yesterday or today? That question was posted last night.

Anyway, I didn't get to do monthly shopping today. Weather related delay. Forecast suggested we would have patchy morning fog and mostly sunny the rest of the day. We had a very thick (visibility no more than 50 yards) freezing fog that made everything more slippery than it already was (thick icing on all the trees) and it stayed all day --- no clearing. I did not want to have to drive 250 miles at 30-40 mph in thick fog on slippery roads, so I just said "fuck it" and stayed home.

Was that temp yesterday and today, supposed to be really nice for the next several days.

I seen the fog warnings, unbelievable.

Worked my ass off the last couple days, couldn't stay awake last night. I'm getting some real exercise tomorrow climbing mountains, so I'll be back in shape for a few days.

I wish we could have your temps right now. The high today was 30 and the fog still is not gone. I hope it clears off tomorrow but I doubt this thick shit plans to go away.

I never heard of heavy fog in the winter....but I'm not schooled on winter weather.

The air temp is colder than the ground temp, causing the fog?

Ahhh... you must have clicked the "stay logged in" button and then fell asleep, so it looked like you were still here. I stopped using that feature and if I pass out, it logs me off if I don't post anything for one hour. That way, everyone knows I am gone. That's also why my second post was exactly one hour after the first, just to make sure no one answered if they (you) were still awake.

It is pretty much just a cloud that sank down to ground level. Thin fog is when the dew point gets close to the air temp, but this thick shit is exactly the same as a cloud in the sky except it touches the ground. Dew point and temp are very close together.

We used to use something called a Skew T Log P diagram to figure at what level clouds would form. I wonder if that still exists. Maybe I'll go google it.

Oh, I get it. Did I go to town for monthly shopping today? No. The feed store is not open on weekends. And the Chinese take-out place isn't open on Mondays, so shopping will have to wait until Tuesday,

Lannie said there was fog this morning, but is dissipated right after sunrise. Partly cloudy/partly sunny all day and the thermometer hit 42. Lots of shit melted, but it is 32 again now, so we'll have new ice to deal with in the morning.

Wacky weather, but that's certainly better than -10

Yeah. The warm was good for standing in the doorway of Pine Creek Ranch's oat bin ... had to go get about 700 pounds for the chickens.

Let's see... there's 35 or 40 living in the garage, another 30 in the chicken coop, 4 in the hay room, and 6 or 8 in the horse barn, plus 14 guineas who will either be in the horse barn or the chicken coop (depending on how cold it gets). And that amount of food is for about a month.

Ahhh...a month seems like a good quantity for the birds.

I seriously doubt it will get as warm as the guessers claim, but it will be warm enough that Lannie and I can clean out a ton of shit from the chicken coop.
