That happened on Friday. Today was mostly sunny and got up to 35 °F (2 °C) and melting is proceeding fairly quickly. If we have this for a few more days, I might even find some grass.Rich, are you snowed in again?

Not sure we're even going to be able to have a garden this year. Last year, the garden was ready to plant mid-March. This is the middle of April and there is still about a foot of snow covering the entire garden. If the seasons shifted (winter seems to have lasted two months longer than normal) and next Fall arrives two months later, then a garden might still be viable, but if Fall comes at its normal time (first freeze in September), then we don't have time to grow much this year.I am hoping this nasty weather holds out for awhile till it heals up enough to till my garden, got to have my veggies.
I hope it's a late fall them my friend, I couldn't do without my fresh veggies. they are the only ones I can count on being true organic. You could get some short run veggies in anyway. Not sure we're even going to be able to have a garden this year. Last year, the garden was ready to plant mid-March. I have a 10,000 gallon cistern 1/2 full of rainwater for a garden. But no time this year for a garden...Hoping for some rain here. We only have about 150 gallons of rain water left for our garden. That will be gone in just a few weeks.
The municipal water has so many minerals in it, that our garden would suffer if we have to use it.
Hubby has a Chevy Avalanche. Nearest river is 16 miles away and down a very steep slope, and the nearest lake is monitored. Not allowed to get water.Got a pick-up, Sarah? How far to the nearest river or lake where you might refill those barrels?
We might have a chance IF we could put a pump on our well. Nobody around has a clue how to do it.I have a 10,000 gallon cistern 1/2 full of rainwater for a garden. But no time this year for a garden...
Maybe I could 'stream' my water to you over the net?
