I think we got a week or two of leaves turning yellow/orange/brown without full winter being upon us. It always freezes here during the Fall, so that was no surprise. But it just stayed cold, so we declared Fall to be over when we didn't get the bounce-back (warming) that usually follows first freeze.

We've had that here for several years now, it sucks, fall is my favorite season followed by spring, use to love winter but not so much since I've got older.

I think I can agree with that sequence too (1.Fall, 2. Spring, 3. Summer, 4. Winter). When I was a skier, I loved snow. After halting that hobby, I tolerated snow. After becoming a farmer, I tolerated it a lot less. Now the more age I add on this antique body, even "tolerate" is not a good word - I think "despise" is more accurate.

I am about in that range too now, i still enjoy going out on the ice and and catch some fish but the last few years it hasn't made good ice so yes winter sucks.

Well, Jimi, my eyes are drooping, so I think I had better coat my arm/shoulder with some Ouchie Fixit Cream, find my pillow, and hope for some decent sleep.

Hmmm... didn't get this posted before you said good night, so I'll get the lights again.

CLICK.

Just turning the lights on long enough for a morning weather report. When we went out for morning chores, the snow had pretty much stopped, but the wind was still blowing from the north at 20 with gusts to 35 mph (blowing snow at that speed is still defined as a blizzard). The temperature was 1 º F, so the wind chill factor was -21 to -26 º F (exposed flesh freezes in 30 minutes). Every path I plowed with the Bobcat yesterday was filled in as if it was never done.

I hope this doesn't reach you @Jimi but it is headed in your direction.

I hope it doesn't reach here too Rich, it's already cold enough here.

@Jimi The low this morning was -6 ºF with 20 mph wind (wind chill -30 ºF) and I think we hit +9 ºF for our high with wind decreasing to about 10 mph (wind chill then was only -5 ºF). Has any of this crap reached your neck of the woods yet? Supposed to be hot here tomorrow... all the way up to +30 ºF (T-shirt weather for South Dakota). :) I hope the nasty crap misses you.

No, it's been pretty decent here Rich 31 right now but they keep saying it's gonna get colder.

There is also a big nasty winter storm winding up in north Texas and headed NE toward the New England states. With any luck, that one might miss you to your south, but if it does, then it is likely to run right over the top of Cromwell.

I don't doubt it. We started the day at -1 ºF with a 30 mph wind (chill was therefore -27 ºF), but by late afternoon, we made it all the way up to 34 ºF (we're havin' a heat wave, an arctical heat wave..... :) )

Scarcely worth mentioning the weather this year

Evaporated into thin air? I see some of them posting on other threads so maybe we just got too boring for them.

Did Dale go back to Ecuador?
