@inspects YO! DALE! How close was this to your place?

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck near the border of Ecuador and Peru early Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Talked to the GF tonight, said she didn't feel anything, I'm not sure where is was centered, I been shoveling snow all day, haven't looked....:teehee:....

Damn, you have that looking pretty nice....pity it'll be a shithole in another month or two when the melting begins.
I have to do this over every time we get more than 5-6" because, when you add wind, all these pathways fill in very quickly. This is why it is an imperative that the Bobcat keep running - without it, we cannot get in or out of any building and no one would get fed/watered.
Fuck me, you do have some snow......:teehee:
If you look at the last picture of the first post and note the pine trees. A couple years after we moved here, the drifts back there were almost to the top of those trees (OK, the trees were a tiny bit shorter, but the drifts measured 12-15 feet deep) and nothing, even the bobcat, could stop the dawgs from walking out of that yard.

So, were you really sick or just playing hooky? Well, try to have a good night anyway.

I think I'm gonna go crash now too. See ya all tomorrow (a fateful day - explanation later).

FDA Adds Boxed Warning for Increased Risk of Death with Gout Medicine Uloric (febuxostat)

This is an update to the FDA Drug Safety Communication: FDA to evaluate increased risk of heart-related death and death from all causes with the gout medicine febuxostat (Uloric) issued on November 15, 2017.

[2-21-2019] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has concluded there is an increased risk of death with Uloric (febuxostat) compared to another gout medicine, allopurinol. This conclusion is based on our in-depth review of results from a safety clinical trial that found an increased risk of heart-related death and death from all causes with Uloric.

Totally.

Hey, tell me what you think of this: I watched the first Star Warts movie (Episode 4, a New Hope) for about the 9,000th time and was struck by a comment made be Handy Solo to Luke Skyjacker when they first got on the Death Star and ObiWan wandered off to disconnect the tractor beam: "Where did you find that Old Fossil?" Since today was the 70th anniversary of my appearance upon this planet, maybe I am no longer an "Old Phart" but am now an "Old Fossil." (May the Farce be wit youse.) What do ya think?

I thought about that, but given that I am the oldest one in this thread, if I start one for ancient fossils, likely I will be the only one there and just have to talk to myself all the time. Which, sometimes, I think I am doing here too. Luckily, you show up once in awhile... :)

Mail arrived from SA today, I'll send a sample pack Monday.
I see the FDA is coming down really hard on that stuff, which they usually do on any herb that competes with big pharma. Is there a good web page to read actual facts about it (as opposed to government fear tactics)?

Howdy y'all. Hope y'all are doing well and hopefully thawing out some. Texas can't decide from one day to the next if it wants to continue with what we call winter or if we are wearing shorts and running the AC. The trees are starting to bud and we are getting out yellow pollen snow.

Work may start to settle down in the next few days now that the show is opened and running. May even have 3 days in a row off next week and I need it so I can hopefully kick this cold.

There will need to be sufficient global warming to melt two feet of snow before I even find a blade of grass. So, will you post a picture of your Daffy Dills so I have something to look forward to before this lifetime has terminated?
Hahhaha

It is currently -5 ºF. I don't think we have been above freezing in over three weeks. That's what is making this winter be an attitude killer because we do not have the normal up and down fluctuations, and all these below zero temps are really depressing.

Does Lannie (or you) make kefir or kombucha?
To the best of my knowledge, no.

Yeah, that shitty weather is depressing, almost hung myself when I returned, and it was only shitty for about a week.

And the silly thing is that what is shitty to you would have been wonderful to us. ;) It's all a matter of point-of-view...

I'll build one of those mini-homes in the backyard for you...
Can Lannie bring her cows? o_O
The more I investigated moving, the less it seemed possible. Assuming I sold this place for $100,000 and it cost us $20,000 to get all this shit moved to wherever, how the hell would we ever find a house with garage, shop, barns, acres of grass for what was left (appx $80,000)? This place is paid off, so why should a 70-year-old fossil like me want another 30-year mortgage for a huge payment I can't afford?
