Hook's path towards redemption has been an important part of the last season of Once Upon a Time. Well, the last few seasons to be exact. He's had to fight the darkness within him and then he became the Dark One. Oops. He doesn't feel he deserves Emma or another chance, and he's trying to find his way. In "The Brothers Jones," we learn one example he holds up as a way to measure himself is his brother Liam. His older bro showed up in the Underworld.
Poor Hook. On one hand, Liam was so obnoxiously self righteous I was okay with seeing he wasn't all he was cracked up to be. On the other hand, does Hook really need another disappointment? He's had a rough life. He needs more than a single good thing -- Emma's about it right now. He didn't need to be hardened anymore.
