Got my store credit from ElementVapes and didnt waste a second in buying a Lost Vape Triade....

I have been wanting one for a long time, but price a bit too steep...

Also, I have never used Evolve for the DNA chip, and dont know if it will be really needed
or not as I am assuming the TC is pretty well setup out of the box...
I dont care about fonts, wallpaper, etc., but can see using Evolve to set ambient temp and
stuff to tweak my vaping experience.

How many u guys use the DNA chip and have never used Evolve????

I have the Triade DNA 250 - but never use TC or any of the fancy features

Just like the vape on it, even if only using wattage

Ok, I am looking at some 2 year old Evolv DNA200 videos and they say that out of the box, the MOD is
not preset to do TC on SS, only in Ni... but of course, it will do VW just fine.. is that outdated info???
Seems if u want to do any TC using SS, u need to do it from Evolv software???

That may be out of date info. I have a Triade 200, got it about a year ago. While I do use eScribe and have all sorts of profiles for my DNA mods, I'm almost positive that SS defaults came out of the box with the Triade at that time.

It's a great mod and I think it has some pre-sets to use out of the box.
My therion 166 had pre-sets & I never bothered to use escribe. It's worth checking out though! No point wasting wasting the feature :)

One more of my reasons to get a mod with the Evolv chip is that it is know to be robust and reliable.
I have never plugged any of my mods into my pc to do a firmware update because i have read the horror
stories on just about every mod that does NOT have a proprietary chipset...
I saw a good video on youtube where one of the reviewers actually tried to brick his mod while loading
from the eScribe, like, pulling the cable out in mid-download, it did cause the mod to not turn on, but all he
had to do was plug it back into the software... It knew when it left off from the last time, and you just let it
load... Mod works flawless ....

Trust me you won't look back once you get a DNA mod. It's not gonna brink like smok mods do if you fuck up the upgrade!!

I am hoping so.. tired of Smok, Wismec, etc. not delivering what they say, like TC mode.. They try to immitate the yihi and evolv
board on the cheap... lol.. I think it's time for me to just start buying better devises.. it's more $$$, but less frustration factor....

I like hearing from u guys that you are happy with your DNA mods right out of the box.. like, eScribe is optional....

Even the iPV mods with the low end yihi chip don't match the function of a DNA mod.
The only chips that perform for the price are smoant but battery life isn't the best & aspire. I have 3 aspire mods an they are both great.
I prefer yihi too DNA though I'll be honest, I freaking love SX mods.
I got robbed a year or two back an got some fucking good mods stolen.
Provari, SX & DNA mods. My money hadn't been flowing the same since then so I can't afford high end mods. Was so pissed :( wasn't a large collection but they cost alot!!!!

Here's the thing.
Right out of the box, you should do case thermals. That let's the mod know how quickly the case heats up, all part of the stellar temp control info they use. Second, the mod resistance. Also important for temp control. Though that one is a very low number (0.004-0.007 for my DNAs) I still run the test and put it in. A quality manufacturer should have the numbers in already and it's easy to see in EScribe. I have found that while my mods would do TC before running the case thermals, it was somewhat more accurate afterward. That is by using Device Monitor to look at graphs of the mod before and after.
I haven't ever used the default settings for any wire, but I understand that they are really good. I use SS430 and NiFe52 with the downloaded curves from steam engine.

I've been happiest with the DNAs for accuracy of TC with the metals I use. None better. I've had every chip YiHi has made in their own mods. Some have been acceptable, some not. None have done TC the way the DNAs do TC. Way less control and, for lack of a better term, smoothness.

You'll be quite pleased with any dual battery DNA.

I've been playing with a few different mods, but all in the medium price range. None of the 'beater' mods are worth the time it takes to ship them to me. Some of the mid range are very nice. But, none have produced the vape of my DNAs.

Oh noooooo!!! someone stole them?? That's too much $$ to loose, I may be inclined to find the person and beat
his ass if I were a bit younger... LOL....
What is a SX mod?

Ok... how do I do the mod case thermal test? I know how to check internal resistance.. Is 'devise monitor' part of eScribe? And
eScribe is and Evolv software? Sorry, I will be totally new to programing my own chipset, coming from VW mods, and trusting
a few of them to do TC right... LOL

Had a SX mini G class & a SX mini Q class. They are high end mods that use the Yihi chip so I was gutted :( I don't have alot of money now to spend over $200.00 on a mod!

When you attach the mod and open EScribe, after it downloads your mods config, first save that config mentioning that config is the way it came out of the box. I've seen a few people asking for the factory config for this or that mod and this is an easy way to have yours.
Next, in EScribe, go to the Options menu, choose User Interface, choose Manufacturer. That will allow access to many all options.
Now, go to the Mod tab. Look at Battery. If you have a 2 cell mod, its important to set it to a 2 cell mod. I'd also put a good value in the capacity field but that only affects the battery display on the screen.
Now scroll down that section until you get to the bottom, Thermal.
Click the case Analyzer button.
You should know you'll need 25-50% battery, not more because the testing is going to charge the batteries.
You should know the room temperature because it's going to ask.
You should know the mod will set testing for 2-4 hours.
When its done, save the results, then upload the results to the mod. That's the biggy, always upload results to the mod. I've lost things that I've done through being distracted and forgetting that step.

Hope it makes sense to you, if not, give me a shout.

Evolv chip is the best regulated chip on the market and don't worry about the upgrades bricking and I very highly recommend getting to know and how to use eScribe. It's not bad, go to the Evolv forums and there's a tutorial that I very highly recommend going through. Once you do you breeze through the software and know how to make full use of the Mod.

I dove into TC rather deep and really dove into eScribe, hell even calibrated everything in the Mod including the batteries. Anyway I don't do TC any longer, too much busy work for too little gain. On the occasion I do vape on a regulated Mod it's in Power Mod, I'm 99% Mech and IMO TC can't touch the quality/smoothness of a good Mech ;)

To be fair mechs are built like freaking tanks too, nothing will outlast it.

I have 4 Triades, 2 200's and 2 250's, love them!! I've had them for over a year. If only the paint held up better, not that I have had a single mod that the paint lasts on. You will most likely find yourself shelving other mods and wanting more Triades. I really wish there were more 3-18650 DNA mods out there and the Triades has become fairly difficult to find.

Really hoping that a DNA 250C comes out and LV decides to release a new Triade! Really have been fighting the urge to pick up one or more Paranormal too, would really like to have both a 75 and 167 Paranormal. And the project sub-ohm version is sick!!

But I'm so spoiled with battery life of triple battery mods! Have 12 "married triples" since I have the 4 Triades, and 6 reauleax (1 DNA 200 and 5 others).

If only money was in great abundance. Definitely would be getting several Paranormal in different color and chipset configurations and a project sub-ohm and more Triades just because I love them!!

Now if they do release a 250C Triade my CC is in big trouble!

I like it, it is the only mod I have that hasn't left the house since it was my first DNA. The 510 isn't as nice as the ones on the Triades but it has a special place with me as it was my first mod outside of my provari that was higher end. If you really want one I think eciggity still had them the last time I looked.

Problem is you pay all that and have the same build quality as an RX200. For the same money (depending on your local market) a Triade is far better constructed.

I have a lost vape therion on its way :)

The Therion is now my favorite mod. I still love my Triade, and the size and extra battery are great for my larger tanks, but there's something about the Therion that just a pleasure to hold and vape. And it look great.
