First thing I did was try and pry it out but couldn't get it so I thought a needle too but I don't want to do that.

So for two of them I stuck a pipette in there and tilted the bottle sideways but that was a pain.

I'll try and get that insert out again.

Yuck, I don't like those. :(
I think your suppose to insert a syringe in, to draw the flavoring out.
Personally, I throw the thing away, and use a eye dropper :rolleyes: ... very unprofessional :p

PS .. pliers pull the thing out

the 100ml bottles from FA Italy used to come the same way. not sure if they still do but I did the same thing ripped it off and that was that

oh yeah they will leak without that thing.I forgot about that. i got a 4oz? i think bottle form them recently and it has a flip top lid. SO not sure if its only certain sizes tehy do it with or if you can request different bottle styles
