Claire and Jamie Fraser have one mission in Season 2 of Outlander: to change the future of Scotland by stopping the Battle of Culloden from ever happening.
"I guess that sounds so easy: you’ve got to change the future," star Sam Heughan pondered during a recent interview. "But then, for Jamie and Claire, how do we do that? And it’s so complicated — I mean, so complicated."
The execution proves more complicated than Claire, a woman flung back in time from the '40s to the 1740s, expected. Together she and her Scottish husband decide to infiltrate the French court of King Louis XV to try to alter the course of history and prevent Prince Charles Stuart (better known now as Bonnie Prince Charlie) from claiming his family's stake on the British throne -- all while Jamie and Claire lie to everyone around them about their true motivations.
