While Overwatch was originally revealed as a PC-only game, Blizzard's team-based shooter was in fact designed from day one with the console audience in mind.
"It was kind of a dream of ours," game director Jeff Kaplan said during today's Overwatch panel at BlizzCon (via Polygon). "When we started to make Overwatch... it was our goal from day one to have this game playable on console," he added.
Kaplan continued, highlighting a major benefit in developing Overwatch for consoles, noting that "designing the game so it felt great on a console controller almost put this forced design elegance on us."
