Legendary's sequel to Pacific Rim will open in theaters on February 23, 2018.
Universal Pictures announced the Pacific Rim 2 release date in a press release, reaffirming that Star Wars: The Force Awakens' John Boyega will star as Pacific Rim 2's leading man. Boyega will play the son of Idris Elba's character Stacker Pentecost from the first film.
