Parallels using the coil master kit

i have made a set of parallels on mine. i folded a wire in half to use, but it didnt fit in the guide hole in the handle of the coilmaster, so i just held it against the side with my thumb, then put the wire over the top of the rod and gently spun the other piece until it grabbed the wire and got about half a wrap around, then i lightly pinched the wires against the edge to keep them feeding tight and smooth against that little screw head as i twisted it. a bit of finger gymnastics to keep everything tight as you adjust your grip to make another twist without losing tension, but it worked first try. i think it was 24 gauge kanthal 5 or 6 wrap.

I just hand wrap em and use the jig itself for a base. It just makes it easier to line-up that first wrap and keep everything in place as you go around. Never had much success using the top part.

I've been able to do some UD Clapton paralleled with 28g. It's about the biggest that fits using the guide hole in the handle. I didn't have any issues with overlapping or twisting, just go slow. I have had 28g overlap when I was first learning to use it if I held too much pressure on the top piece which tended to push it backwards.
i actually twisted up a parallel clapton last night at the suggestion of another user here. this time i used the guide holes in the coilmaster handle for the two wires and just rolled it up like a normal coil (i was using premade wire so i had two separate pieces instead of one folded in half that didnt fit in the guide holes like last time). the only thing i had to do different was move the screw in the piece you rotate into the further from center position. it worked great, and the screw seemed to flatten and straighten the two wires as they wrapped around the rod. smooth.
When you used the guide holes did you use each wires in the separate holes or stuck both in 1 ? I did YouTube this before posting and everyone shoves them both in one hole I'm wondering if it would be simply easier to wrap them having them in the seperate holes

Folding works well, I also wrap SS and Ni parallels and use the same hole. But when doing two strands, I do the first one with the top jig, spaced very well and then run the smaller wire by hand. After a couple tries you'll get it. Or just use a long rod of you desired diameter, run a coil using long legs, put the one side of legs in vice while you wrap(easiest way)
