Which is better...pg base nic or vg base nic? I have vg base now but it's a pain in the arse to mix with. My arm wants to fall off shaking it. Is pg base just as good? I usually mix a 80vg/20pg.

Thanks in advance for replies

As you have noted, vg is difficult to work with. Some say that pg base nic resists oxidation better than vg. PG base nic gives me more of a throat hit, while vg is smoother. Have been using a 50/50 pg/vg nic base lately and I think this is my happy spot.

I usually mix a 80vg/20pg.

It seems to me that with DIY I get larger recipe flexibility using PG based flavorings. If mixing higher nicotine level recipes using PG based nic., the amount of added PG based flavoring can be limiting should one desire 80%VG in the finished juice. Some mixers sometimes use an amount of PG flavorings which, with lesser nic. levels, can also make it difficult to achieve 80%VG.

You may wish to "do the numbers" to determine if PG based nic. will work for you.

Thank you for the response! I generally use 1.5-3% nic in my juices, depending on if tanks or drippers. I have a pg sensitivity so going below 80 on vg is iffy sometimes.

I use pg based nic .. (it's a PA thing.. jk lol ) seriously tho.. thats my choice.. easier to work with out of the freezer ( not so much an issue but just mentioning) also easier to syringe out - i make almost all my diy 30/70 or 20/80 and have not had a problem. Only reason I see to get vg base nic is if you wish MAX VG in your mixs.

Edit:
I have a pg sensitivity so going below 80 on vg is iffy sometimes.
you should be ok about 90/95% of the recipes we run across but is something to consider.. run a few through the calc and see how they come up. :)

You are most welcome!

Most recipes I see would easily allow you to use PG based nic.

You could also try a 50/50 mix as it may be a little easier to shake up.
Buy 100mg PG-NIC base and mix in 50% VG
120ml NIC + 120ml VG = 240ml of 50/50 at 50mg NIC which is safer to mix with IMO.

Excellent idea! I think I will do that. I already have the 100mg vg nic....thank you very much!
