I have been very happy with my PICO since I purchased it. So much so that I plan on buying a PICO Dual at some point for the two battery advantage I would of already expect that I can't really justify the expense. Dual battery is the only real plus for me because I do vape at low wattage so I can't see my self going anywhere near 60 based on the coils and builds I currently use.
Anyway, I will get to the point. My real Issue is that I work outdoors in the north so it can get fairly cold lets say the low teens. I have noticed on rare occasion (it has happened about 3 times) in the four months I have owned my device that when I take a vape and release the fire button the PICO does not stop supplying voltage to the atty. I never let it go long enough to see if the 10s fail safe still functions in these situations. I usually panic and frantically unscrew the battery cap enough to cut contact and then screw it back in.
Has anyone else had this issue? This has only happened when I have been out in the cold. Now I know that electronics have operating temp specs for the external temps. I am sure this does too but... My cell phone still work when it is 15 degrees and for the most part so does the PICO except once in a while when it scares me like this.
I am going to try to stick to 30a batteries. I have one at 30a and one that is at 20a. most of my coils never go below .3 in VC and .15 in TC. I use the thirty amp as an additional safe guard. If when my PICO is malfunctioning like this I want the battery to be able to handle a unregulated extended pull on a .3 coil with a low battery. I don't mind the reduced battery life and if I upgrade to a dual that 1500mah limit on 30a batteries will be a mute point. as obviously the two batteries share the load and battery life is effectively 3000 mah (kind of but not really lol).
Again I am getting side tracked. My main concern is not battery venting but more that the atty will burn long enough to dry the juice in the wick to the point it ignites. When it wigs out like this I have no idea what wattage is being applied to the coil. Could be what I set it at or it could be full blast 75W or it could be unregulated. Anyone have this issue with the PICO? Any mod? In the cold?
Thanks in advance and I apologize for the long wordy post.
