PlayStation announced a smaller PlayStation 4 model at its September press briefing today, which will take the place of the currently available PS4 as the standard system model.
Available for $299, the new "slimmer, lighter, more energy efficient" PS4 model will be available in most territories beginning September 15.
The new PS4 model was previously leaked and showcased ahead of today's showcase.
