A lawsuit has been filed against Nintendo, Niantic Labs and the Pokemon Company, after a number of individuals trespassed on a the property of a man from New Jersey.
According to Polygon, the lawsuit states that "at least five individuals knocked on plaintiff’s door and asked for access to plaintiff’s backyard in order to 'catch' Pokémon that the game had placed in Plaintiff’s residence in West Orange, New Jersey — without plaintiff’s permission."
The plaintiff, whose name is Jeffrey Marder, is claiming that developer Niantic Labs set Pokemon Gyms and Pokestops on his property without first getting his consent. According to Marder, the people playing Pokemon Go on his property are interfering with his quality of life, and the companies behind the title are profiting on a game that causes players to trespass on private property.
