That could very well be the problem. Take it off the mod, hold the center post with pliers, and try to tighten the screw in the 510 connector. Also, the center post(positive) spins when i try to tighten the post screws.
Well... I would... But... Ya see, the thing is... I have the alien mod and just upgraded the firmware to 1.2.11 last night and in doing so my TC mode completely shit out on me. I prefer to run my SS in TC but unless I can find a downgrade link back to 1.2.1 or they fix it soon in a new upgrade I'm without TC until I get a new modHave you tried firing it in Temp Mode?
I have some fused Clapton and single wire is MUCH easier to work with IMHO. I can't get the pics to load but it sounds like you've got it figured out. The more you wrap the better they'll start to look, it's a practice thing. Mine still look pretty bad most of the time, but they're functional and that's what's important.View attachment 74164 I finally wrapped a halfway decent pair of clapton coils on this 3 post CCI Archon. I failed a couple times but this one doesn't touch the sides, pop or snap, and tastes great. Just imperfect and ugly looking to me. I am determined to perfect doing this with this roll of clapton wire until I get a roll of simple wire and hope it will be easy street with that. Lol
It is not that hard on the 2 post deck, but I only have the 2 decks shared between my husband and I and we seem to have rejected our Baby Beast tanks since I have started us dripping.
Thanks! My OCD is terrible so I see it as ugly AF. While I built that this afternoon, my daughter and husband were waiting for me to go for a 4WD truck drive down our new neighborhood dirt roads. lolI have some fused Clapton and single wire is MUCH easier to work with IMHO. Looks like your leads on the center pin are touching the coils?View attachment 74164 I finally wrapped a halfway decent pair of clapton coils on this 3 post CCI Archon. https://www.coil-master.net/product/coil-master-diy-kit-v3 this is what I use more often than not. The coil jigs are really nice, with a bit of a learning curve for first time use. I found a YouTube video that showed how to properly use it (there are no manuals or papers in it at all, so as a first time builder it was all guess work). But that has everything I use for my building and everything works really. I sometimes use a screwdriver to wrap on if I don't feel like messing with the jigs but I have no idea what size it is ~3.5-4mm though I thinkThanks! My OCD is terrible so I see it as ugly AF. My husband had that deck before with a real shitty build I did for him that popped, snapped, and was just BAD. lol So I gave him my 2 post deck with my first ever build on it and had to fix that one real quick or we both wouldn't have our own mods and drippers for the ride!
Too bad he doesn't do the building...
I need a smaller wire snipper with the angle on it and some other things if I am going to get faster at this...
Toe nail clippers should be for toe nails. lol
Drill bits don't have anything to stop against unless I rig it with a wrap of some kind.
I'm working with hardly anything here.
Please elaborate? One coil was getting red faster than the other initially so I really want to know. Leads?Looks like your leads on the center pin are touching the coils?

So the part u have screwed into the pin coming out is touching the 1st wrap on the coil next to itPlease elaborate? One coil was getting red faster than the other initially so I really want to know. Leads?
I really would like to snip that but can't! I just can't. lol I want to give up until I can get a better snipper. I even tried pushing it in and snipping, then backing out slightly to screw down but it kept catching in the dent the screw made and pushed it back out (if that makes any sense). So the part u have screwed into the pin coming out is touching the 1st wrap on the coil next to it

Not the extra part. I'm talking about the start of your coil is crossing over and touching the wrapped part of the coilI really would like to snip that but can't! I hope this helps someone with the 3 post and no good snippers...
Any other trick to do this would be awesome!
downgrade link back to 1.2.1
Yes, I downgraded back to 1.2.2 a few days ago and that fixed my TC problems. I'm still really disappointed by the bug in 1.2.11 with TC but, I have faith in them that it'll be corrected in the next upgrade so I'll wait for that one. Thank you for those links though.

I'm running 1.2.11 on my Alien -- I'll have to try TC with this coil I'm using to see if it is working or not. I can't speak for the majority of them but it wasn't wanting to run right in SS modeI'm running 1.2.11 on my Alien -- I'll have to try TC with this coil I'm using to see if it is working or not. I don't use TC mode, so I have never check it.
Can you explain not wanting to "run right" ... I've got a SS316L 24g/36g Clapton in my Ammit right now and TC seems to be working without issue.I can't speak for the majority of them but it wasn't wanting to run right in SS mode

Had just a dual coil build, spaced 24 AWG 316L set to 530F at 100 watts, wouldn't fire for even a full second before the temp control kicked in and cut power. Can you explain not wanting to "run right" ... What was the coil ID? How many wraps?24 AWG 316L set to 530F at 100 watts
The image isn't wanting to load on my end. What was the math for that, or site link? That could be extremely helpful in my next buildK, that would have been a heat flux of 285 @ 100w.
So ya, that would have heated up really quick and hitting the temps within split seconds.
