Here is my first attempt at home-made Flat Bastard wire. (twisted 33 wrapped with 0.8 ribbon)

Built a dual 6-wraps on a 1.8mm screwdriver, 1 Ohm DC build for my Fogger v4. It worked nice and had great flavor, but ran a bit too warm for my taste. I kept the build for later usage in a RDA or such. :)

(click thumbs for full-size)

If you've used the TINY screws on the new Fogger v4, you know how much of a PITA that was to get on there. ;)
I love my fogger V4 but I can't get the thing to stop leaking on me.... Every time I look away from it it leaks from the airflow holes

26 gauge, five wraps around 5/64 bit. Hitting at .22 ohms. Ran my cotton through the coil then ran it over the coil between the positive and negative post for both sides. Found that it wicks very we'll. It gives you a beautiful vape.

It's a semi-gravity and semi-vacuum system...there's an easy fix. I do this after every filling to ensure it's not collected juice in the airflow.

Here's what I do:

  1. turn it upside down, let all the juice come back down
  2. while upside down, wrap a bit of paper towel or such around the AFC to catch stuff.
  3. while still upside-down open the AFC a bit, then blow up through the drip trip...any juice in the AFC should now be blown out...but your just pushing air, as your juice is being held down by gravity....so it won't flood.
  4. turn over, let the juice come back down and vape.

(Assuming it's clean and you hadn't flooded the deck or gotten juice in the positive post chamber)

You can use a similar technique to empty the Fogger as well: http://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_.../fogger_v4_how_to_empty_the_juice_easily_and/

I also am in the habit of filling/emptying the Fogger v4 (pyrex tank) from the top like I would the Aqua.
But, that takes a bit of dexterity and finesse or you'll dump your tank. ;)

i know everyone does there coils by wrapping around a drill bit or screw drivers, but has anyone tried using allen wrenches? i know it'd be a little different shape but would work the same right?

They work, as long as you use cotton/hemp/etc. That will fill the irregular gaps.
Now, if you try it on a SS Genny build, you're asking for a problem as it will have gaps. ;)

When building these vertical coils, use cellu cotton for wick. It absorbs at an extremely fast rate! I the the vertical build, but always had wicking problems until I used cellu cotton wick. Organic cotton is still my wick of choice for everything else though.

the real trick is making it a single wire - wrapping around the top of the center post eliminates that crap where one gets loose in the post ... they alway fire evenly.
unless you have a helios ... i find it the best way to do duals ...

It's in my patriot that's been in service since day one lots of scars and I had to drill out and re tap one of the negative posts but it's still goin strong. Cap is drilled cloud chasers inc. Style, 6 holes each side diagonal stacks of 2, this one is hittin hard, luvin it.

Dual parallel. 24g wrapped 5 times around some type of screwdriver..can't remember :D

After seeing you post this last night, I tried it. Works OK. I'll keep using my techniques, but this will come in handy from time to time. Through some allen wrenches in my kit for backup.

Here's another, simple 24g micros on my quasar. Nothing beats dual 24g for a constant all day vape for me. I'll go thicker if I'm at home or blowing clouds at the shop but those previous builds I posted guzzle juice. image.jpg

image.jpg Couple more builds, nothing too crazy. 22g on a 3/32 bit with a single piece of cotton ran thru and folded over on the zenith/stingray setup. 24g on a 3/32 bit on the stillare/turtleship combo. image.jpg

24 gauge simple sleeper built clocking in at .15 ohms. My first time building this low and it is blowing some serious clouds

How's the flavor with this build? Is it as dense as a normal contact coil? I'd like to try something like this, where each wrap is spaced instead of touching. I'd maybe do one extra wrap on each side just to cover a little more surface area

The flavour is still nice and dense but I would say that the Atty (zenith v2) plays a part in that. I prefer smaller attys like the atomic and the cyclone because of the flavour they offer but as far as larger attys go the zenith is great it still has a reasonably reduced chamber and is really made for builds like this IMO

I live with a rebuilder, so I'm just getting started learning to rebuild, so I have no pix to share yet. But the photos here make the macro photography lover in me very happy.

My two all day builds. The dual vertical 24ga 10 wrap really puts the drain on my Hana @ 30w. I think it will perform much better on my Genome 50w when it gets here in a couple weeks or my v2 GI2 due next month. I'm really looking forward to 20ga builds on the GI2 @150w+ The Magma is a little gunky but its over a month old and still chugging all day @ 30w. Going to the post office tonight to pick up my Koh Gen Do japanese organic cotton :D
