So finished a couple ss 3 core alien with pre stretch method to get used to it from now on . I figure if I keep them smaller for a single coil each de-core then I don't need to worry about snags. Anyway all I got to say about ss is holy low ohms ! Compared to my same setup with ka1 and n80 ! .20 compared to .27Just got my wire order today to . Gonna try some diff. Combos of all n80 and all SS . Since I've been building I always used kanthal for cores and n80 for wrap and the flavor was on point so I never tried anything else but been curious to try some diff. Wire. Combos so gonna give it a go tonight . Cheers all !

I can't lie to you King. It's not the greatest vape. I did it just to challenge myself and see if I could complete the build. Turned out it really wasn't that hard using Ndevine83's tutorial on them. They are more for the look of it than anything else.Very cool shred! Congrats

Looks great Meg! I'm still practicing just the round wire version I find that the challenge is really getting the spacing close enough on the first pass so that after you do the second pass and coil it, it doesn't look like a bunch of Buk**kee.fruit stripe gum

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm in love with the idea of being able to create a build I have never done before. None the less I would say 98% of the coils I build are just for show. I don't actually vape them. I usually give them away. Sometimes I'll mail a coil to someone and say hey if you like the vape you can donate at ....... and I give them my paypal but I never demand money. The only coil I actually vape is a 6 ply .5/ 26g frame/36-38g decore off a 26g wire Fralien. Ohms at about .13. That's the vape I enjoy the most.great you ticked it off the list though mate
was planning to make an N80 version of this build last night and ran out of energy and will by the time I got off work lol ended up just taking a 5 core I had already made and paralleling with another 28g core. maybe tonight I'll get home early enough to do a proper 6 core. very nice job on the build man! Kinda looks like a hybrid the way the inner wraps are tight and the outer wraps are a little more spaced. Actually came out very cool!
IMO opinion once you get past the basic principals of aliening the main factors become your stretch and consistent tension on the cores with the binding decore. If your tension is all over the place your binding will be too. That's what I mainly focus on. But yeah, @chrisakasparky is one hell of an alien maker.
I keep mine hanging on a curtain rod attached to the wall. I put some masking tape on the bar to keep them from slipping off.
I tried it one time. I was definitely not impressed with the flavor, so I never bothered to try it again. They're pretty, but really don't perform well. At least for me it didn't.

Now that I think about it, they might actually perform better with smaller ribbon. I have some 0.2 that I might try. I think the one I pictured is 0.5
I actually ordered .2 ribbon (a relatively small amount) because that's how Ndevine83 did it in his tutorial. IMO the vape still wasn't great. I mean it is vapable. I just can't see anyone preffering it over an alien coil, or a framed staple, or even a fused clapton to be honest.
Here's a better pic. You can easily fit over 100 decores in a very small space this way. I've built Tsukas with 0.3 as the wrap. It isn't as good as a 3 core Alien but the flavor wasn't bad by any means. The issue was the cotton was center burning after a day or two of use and after 3 re-wicks the flavor was non existent. As a coil that'll be worth the build I won't recommend them.Very cool shred! I would suggest trying a single coil build. I'm a sole mech mod user, but my favorite vape is a larger Alien Framed Staple done with at least 6plys of .5 ribbon. I like 26g frames and 36-38 alien binding. You could take that decore off 24-26g depending on how wavy you want the wraps to be and what your comfort level is in terms of stretch. I just find that with the larger Alien Frames Staples you get more depth that if you were to use .3 ribbon for example. The build I'm suggesting comes out to about .12 - .14 using N80 and about .08 - .10 using stainless steel. Only a suggestion. I've tried making four and five core aliens also and they do vape great as well.
At 4.5 wraps, 2.5mm ID, dual coil on a single battery mech is where triple 27/36 Ni80 aliens are king of the hill for me. It is still a smooth vape, but not so smooth that it flattens out the nice soft texture feel... so IMO it is a lively vape as opposed to an anemic one, and, as for the flavor yes of course you can bet both shoes on that it makes all the perfect sense in the universe to always want a full body instead of an empty one.
