The struggle.
It's real.

About that Tiger Coil, SAF. Looks like a wing on the got' dan' Dark Aster;
darkasterconceptart.jpg

LeoLee is a genius for coming up with hands down one of the best twisted wires out there.

Haha it really does. That's probably the best and most consistent piece of tiger wire I've twisted too. I'm getting better at spinning it.

I've never spun any wire myself, I'm sure I've got the tools to do it, just never felt the need. I've heard twisted wires are usually more flavorful? Could be talking out my ass, but I could get into that if it is indeed the case.

MXprep.jpg
It's reading right at .09 once mounted, and boy are these two ready for some fun. I wrapped up some 20g Kanthal around a 3/32nds bit, hell wire is so think I'm sure you can count.
MXcoil.jpg
Here it is all wicked up with my new juice from CCI that I'm diggin' on, glad I liked some of the new flavors I tried because I sure waited long enough for them. Fuck USPS.
MXwick.jpg
I'll post some pictures in the other thread of what this mad mo' clucka' is throwing.

My first dual parallel! 24g 5 wrap on a 3/32 bit. Chucking vapor, killing vtc5s, burning through juice!

22g dual parallel continuous 5 wrap on a 2.5mm bit.
Think it came in to about .08ohm

Chucked the vape but got fuckin hot. Scrapped it for something not so juice hungry.

IMG_0202.png IMG_0203.png IMG_0206.png

wanted to ask you plumeveil owners, does the airflow in your negative posts come out of the bottom (3rd pic)? thought they came out of the post holes but this works too lol so far lovin this thing, just has a slight learning curve for me

SXK makes top notch products, if it's a choice, that's who I go with.
In regards to your question about the airflow at the base of the deck where the posts meet it, yes that's them, and I thought the same thing before I rebuilt it for the first time hahaha.

Today I made my first clapton coil. I saw it on RipTrip and was intrigued.

I couldn't get my hands on 32g kanthal today so I improvised.
I used .4g acoustic guitar string as a wrap "guide". Then I used 30g kathal for my wraps (using a hand held drill). I pulled the guitar wire out and inserted 28g kathal core.
I made a set of single coils (7 wraps each for a total of .47 ohms) for a local B&M vape shop buddy today. He loved them.

SO now i have my wrapped wire and I am ready to wrap. Plan to do it in the am (as I have to get kids to bed now).

I wrapped enough to attempt a quad coil. I am planning on doing 2 coils (for technically a dual coil) they will have 10-12 wraps each and then I plan to 'fold' them in half to instal them vertical in my infinite CLT (which is the only RDA I have with big enough post holes). Aiming for .99 ohms

Here are my last two builds.
I removed my twisted 28 dual (quasi-quad) at .6ohms with a CLAPTON dual/quad coil at 1.0 ohms

Much Wait,
Very Patience.
Coiled.jpg
Finally received my Competition Doge RDA after many delays (for a trashy box that a middle-schooler designed) and am enjoying the airflow! Put a 4-wrap 20g Kanthal micro-coil in for the first build, reading right around .07 this pup is tearing up the yard.
Wicked.jpg
Here it is wicked, I'm still getting used to the damn thing, choking out left and right haha!

Yeah that 20g look like serious business... Never got into that but I'm motivated to rebuild my Cloud Chaser RDA now...

Such wow

Yea it gets hot down there, I learned real quick that my usual 6mg doesn't cut it that low. I've been using 0mg for my super-sub builds or 2mg if I'm feeling frisky.

I'm running it with two holes closed on each side (one closed off and the next two half-closed) for a total of 7 on each. I lose out of density when I open it all the way up, but that's because my builds aren't manly enough yet..

Do you have any issues with wicking? Do you have a special method? I have the Mutation X as well, right now a dual parallel sleeper build with 5 wraps of 24g kanthal. The only thing i am having issues with is the barrel sleeve being very easy to take off, which is going to be solved by replacing with a thicker o ring, just havent gotten around to it yet. Clean build though man!

I don't have any 0mg, but I have two 120ml bottles coming that are. That might help with the chase!

Thanks very much mate, appreciate it. I use the same method YoSh YOsh's recent wicking tutorial portrays, only thing I don't do is push wick into my coils after I've got it snug. Cotton joints every day!

EDIT - I had a thought about your post a little more, with that much surface area, I can imagine you might have trouble with wicking keeping up. A veteran vaper (credit to Edward Hemivaporenthusist Turner) has an interesting wicking method for his big-ass coils.
10620630_835077186510962_8244480864827293379_n.jpg

He builds around 1/8th inch bit I believe, and uses two balls of cotton to wick by laying the rolled out balls on top of each other and lightly pressing them together, then cuts the cotton long-ways to get fat and long lengths of cotton. His wrap method is one end on the deck and the other across the tops of the posts to back behind the opposite coils.
That's what I would do if I was wrapping on a large diameter bit.

Got a second plume veil. Gplat22 build, 0.14 ohms. image.jpgOut of curiosity, have any of you tried twisting Gplat before? I'm gonna try it with some 26 or 24 the next time I buy a bag. I just used my last few scraps of the 22. Back to regular kanthal for a while after this build :/.
