i have 3 potentiomenter mods all hand made from a company that is out of business called xohm. They are all PWM mods that have lasted at least a year or more so far. 2 have some issues but still work. I can fix these since they are just in hammond style boxes and I know where to get all the parts I need.My thoughts exactly.
Photos are out there, but I don't remember where. Anthony Vapes reviewed it, he may have an open box shot. Honestly the innards don't interest me. If someone I've come to trust says a device okay and with a smidge of common sense I'll be fine I go for it. If it lasts a year or three I've gotten my money's worth.i have 3 potentiomenter mods all hand made from a company that is out of business called xohm. I just got some parts in trade to build my own pwm mod just need a chip i think
but if I were to actually go and buy the parrts to build a mod just like the dovpo, its gonna cost more then $30ish and then I have to assemble it... SO the price is awesome, but I would love to see some photos of it opened up to see if its repairable down the line
its not about my money's worth.....its about WHAT IF? What if regulations are so damn tight and impossible that the only way to keep vaping 5 years from now for me is being able to repair or build mods, because regulations have removed or made next to impossible the ability to buy a regulated mod....?Photos are out there, but I don't remember where. Not overthinking it, that makes sense for you. No one on my block would appreciate what would result if I tried to repair anything with an electrical element. For myself having a closet full of backups makes sense. Not there yet, but a few budget dual 18650s is doable. I've got a small but nice collection of the pricier mods I love that should last years. Just need a few just in caser's now and maybe another 166 Therion. The Dovpo seems like a good place as any to start.its not about my money's worth.....its about WHAT IF? Yes I know i am being paranoid, but that's how I think on this. Its too important for me, I can not start smoking again not now not ever.
Maybe I am way over thinking this, I know I probably am, but I only want user serviceable mods from now on.
if the dovpo will be your first potentiometer style mod it should be great and if you are just a power mode user, you will probably love it for its simplicityNot overthinking it, that makes sense for you. I have the Charon Adjustable. I enjoy using it, it's been benched for now. Break it and the Charon tc out occasionally for taste testing high mg steeping juices. The pot on it is plastic and very hard to adjust. Know it has to be somewhat stiff, but damn thing doesn't need to break my thumbnail. Loved the simplicity tho. Took me awhile to get used to no screen. lolif the dovpo will be your first potentiometer style mod it should be great and if you are just a power mode user, you will probably love it for its simplicity
just remember there are 2 types of potentiometer mods.
what it seems that is being sold mass market are all VV with some safety built in. Which honestly if it all falls apart depending in how the board is installed etc could be repaired with a similar chip that is readily available, its actually a chip pretty much the same use din teh hexohm v2
But what most custom mod makers use are PWM or Pulse width modulation, which when you use it feels similar and works similar to VV but you will find as the battery drains you have to turn your power up slightly to get the same power where VV you kind set the voltage and because of how most of them are designed they maintain that voltage until you hit low battery cutoff. SOme pwm mods have safety features, some do not.
What do you think of it?Broke down and ordered the ss Dovpo MVV. Saw a picture of one with a Drop on it and overhang was almost nil, so I ordered a ss Drop as well.
Just shipped from gb. I'll have forgotten I ordered it before it gets here. I'll let you know. Not expecting any surprises. Pretty straightforward mod. What do you think of it?

Almost! I quite like the mod and Drop, they make a good pair. More comfortable to hold than I'd imagined.So. did you forget about it before it came in?
Nice! Mine should be in next tuesday.Almost! I quite like the mod and Drop, they make a good pair. More comfortable to hold than I'd imagined.
I like the Dovpo MMV better. GB has a good price on them. Paid $25 or a bit less. The Charon Adj is good, just like the other better. I don't have a Hex to compare too.Wow, I had no idea Smoant made a poteniometer mod, much less one in the Charon form. I was so confused at first, thinking the Charon is VW, what's this dude talking about? lol
The price of most potentiometer mods have kept me from trying one, but $30 doesn't seem like too much of a gamble... So it's a decent? Does it compare to the more expensive mods like the HexOhm?
Don't know. Never leaves the house, use it for dripping. Think it might have the 5 click option. I'm at work and can't check right now.does the dovpo mmv have an on/off switch?

Surprised me how comfortable it is to hold. It doesn't feel as boxy as it looks.Small in your hands compared to other mods
I liked the first one I got so much that I picked up a second. Haven't had any issues with unexpected firing. It is well built and love the instant ramp up. I've dropped mine a couple times with zero damage.the fire button bothers me a bit. it seems super easy to push and not as clicky as I am accustomed to using. I am worried it will get pushed in by accident sitting next to something on the desk or turned on in my pocket. Other then that, it is super comfy in the hands and the weight is good. I am highly impressed for $30
thanks for that, this is good feedback. SInce I drop a mod daily, hourly. every couple minutes....yes I am a clutzI liked the first one I got so much that I picked up a second. Lately, this is the mod that I take out of the house to preserve more expensive ones and since it is sturdy and the battery life seems better than most.thanks for that, this is good feedback. SInce I drop a mod daily, hourly. every couple minutes....yes I am a clutz
