Pro's and Cons about the Joyetech Evic VT Starter Kit (Ego One Mega)

I for one was waiting and saving for this device ever since it came out. Good priced kit for VT but i already have a few vapes, I don't like to spend money on new ones that often. When i first got it, I felt like I was meeting a celebrity I liked for the first time, but obviously a lot less star struck. I was using the nickel coil and had no problems, the only problem i had was the ejuice i was using because it left a weird feeling in the throat, but little did i know... Anyway i loved the VT setting because it was my first time ever using it and it was a way cooler vape than my typical VW mode. i like the idea of not feeling it going down and seeing it when it comes out

Now fast forward to now, I've had this kit for almost a month and I've noticed some pros and cons about it.

Before i begin, 95% of my cons are with the tank. its really only one con but its a HUGE one.

Now this kit has an amazing look. It's really something you're proud to take out of the house or show off to your friends. It is absolutely GORGEOUS. The VT Setting is amazing for those of you just starting to get into sub ohm vaping and the fact that the tank comes with not one but two VT coils made of both VT metals is astonishing. The Ohm reader is incredibly accurate to me but keep in mind that i don't have a legit Ohm reader to test it. It's very easy to use but a little difficult to get used to at first.

Now for the cons. My one con about the device itself is the adjustment dial. It's a good concept and makes using the device very smooth but my one concern is if you have a leaking issue (The irony is coming) and it leaks into that dial, you're virtually screwed. Now the dial is sealed off if I'm not mistaken but it doesn't mean the dial won't gain drag if it were to happen. Not to mention the dial is spring loaded, spring loaded things usually have issues sooner or later.. Also when i first got it, the dial was kind of scratchy when i turned it to the right but that's just my device, doesn't mean it will happen to all of them.

Now for the BIG one. The tank it comes with has an incredible leaking problem. That feeling in my throat was from the juice spitting into the back of it. Now when i used the nickel coil it was fine for a week or so and then started to spit very small amounts of ejuice. Once i changed it to the titanium coil, the issue really started to take off. I used the Ti coil for a day or so but decided i didn't like the Ejuice because it left me with that feeling in my throat so i dumped the ejuice (That was yesterday). Today i got my order of Vapetrik's Booby Nectar and put it into my Soooo amazing VT tank. As soon as i took the first puff, the tank was girgling and spitting. It literally sounded like that dude in the movies who keeps dry sipping his empty soda. So i fired it while blowing into the tank to de-flood it. When i was done i looked at the tank and a good stream of Ejuice shot out the side and got all over the device, almost getting into the dial (Luckily i saved it with a towel). I was royally pissed off and dissapointed. I was waiting to buy this kit for months and this happens. I put my Subtank nano on it, dumped the juice into the subtank and its working fine so don't worry, I have a working vape again. Anyway thats not to say that it WILL happen to you but its something to consider. In my opinion, I would recommend buying the device without the tank and use it with a more respected tank like the Subtanks or an Aspire or even an RDA if the cons i listed about the device don't seem bad enough to turn you away. Like I said, the device itself is gorgeous but you could do with a better tank. I gave it 3 stars because The device itself deserves 5 but the tank deserves one.

I hope this helped you choose your next purchase and hopefully helped kill some time as well. Happy Vapin!

I originally wanted to post this as a review on the site i got it from but it was too long, so i posted this and posted a link to it in my shortened review.. just wanted to lessen the confusion on the imaginary stars i gave it

Btw something I forgot to mention, another leaking issue I've noticed is right after i fill the tank with ejuice and put it on the device, liquid leaks from the deck of the tank very slowly for an hour or so then stops. When i take the tank off i get a nice thick ring of ejuice outlining the diameter of the tank on the top of the device. Just wanted to mention that because the flooding issue isn't technically a leaking issue even though it did spit a shit load of e juice all over the place in my attempt to de-flood it, its just extreme flooding. The seal mechanism that's used where the chimney meets the coil is very odd and that could be the reason it flooded like it did, in that case it would be a development flaw.

Based on my vaping experience over the past 4+ yrs, I've come to realize that if something is leaking, flooding, gurgling or spitting e-liquid... that it's actually not a device issue. What I did finally have to admit to... is that it's actually... absolutely & without a doubt more a user error issue, so to speak.... Not that anything has been done 'wrong' per se, but that it indicates reason to stop & figure out what the issue(s) are. Either what isn't sealed properly anymore.. (thus not setting up good pressure to properly wick/feed the liquid) ... what came loose & is no longer firmly threaded into its base (thus allowing juice under, around... & into airflow, up to 'da mouth! When opening bottom fill tanks... the coil can come loosened; so always good practice to double-check that it's still in there whenever open) Or, lastly... that the coil is just done, kaput.. & has been used/vaped to its max, time for it to be replaced. All that said, in your case, I'd be willing to bet one of the O-rings has come dislodged... or is torn... & the tank isn't going back together sealed properly. Something to definitely check... that could immediately remedy any/all leaking issues you've been having. Once I figured out the above... & am sure to (now) check for seals once back together... in addition to priming w/ a few drops into juice openings on coil & a couple drops onto top of cotton.... I always close tank, cover airholes with finger & once upright, take a few sharp pulls (without firing) just to double-check it's all sealed up. I then always start super low in wattage w/ any new coil & take a few pulls... going up slowly in 10w increments until I find wherever it tastes best, regardless of what's printed on the coil itself. Doing that, imho... breaks in a new coil, as one would pulse the coil on their RDA & helps it to not only last longer..... but again, just ensures that everything has been set up right... & that the juice has most definitely had enough time to reach all the way to the middle... to the coil.... & IS, actually... feeding properly without any gurgles, floods &/or leaking..... & that it's providing me with the fully saturated vape I expect. Helps the coils to last longer too, imho... Since, if a seal is broken & not in-tact..... OR if the juice hasn't gotten through all that cotton & I jump in at 50w+ right away..... there goes not only my coil since the cotton would prob burn up... dry hits galore.... & there goes my vape experience too... if it floods. I know what a total PITA that can be.... & am really sorry you've even had to experience that. One good thing tho....... is that it can be a super easy fix that'll get that tank/coil back on track for ya....... Probably even give you a much better outlook as a whole.... as far as your EvicVT/Ego One Mega, too... ;) Live long(ER) & vape on!

I don't know anyone who hasn't had the issues mentioned above with the ego one mega tank (me included)! That said I still use mine sometimes with the clr coils, but it's still a messy vape.
