Protected battery in a mech mod?

Ive got a nemesis clone and use sony vtc5 batteries for it but im looking at the 14500/14650 nemesis and was wondering if its ok to use a protected battery with it?

Considering it wont have much capacity my thoughts were to use maybe a mini rda with 1.5ohm or higher to maybe just test juices with or a fun back up on occasion.

Yea..im not expecting much in amp draw...can i expect maybe the same performance i might get from say an ego type battery with higher ohm coils?..Not looking for anything below 1.5 ohms on a coil build...More than likely i would go with 1.7 to 2.0ohm coils on a small RDA.

Should be fine. Just be sure your builds are below the batteries amp limit and your good to go. Many of the protected cells in that size have a 3A discharge rating so 1.5ohm is about as low as you will want to go with those. Enjoy!

Oh..one more question if i may, With the protected cell it should not fire once the battery is depleted correct?...I know the ego batteries dont use a regulated battery but use the chip to regulate things...So assuming the chip on the battery does its job i should be fine?

correct, it will not allow for over discharge.

Depends on the cell. Just be sure to check what kind of protection it is offering.

Over-Charge, Over-Discharge, Short-Circuit, and in some cases, overheating.

They are not all the same.

Also, I just want to add that this will offer the equivalent vape to an ego. Just don't want you to get your expectations up (or waste money if that's not what your looking for)

No shit, the only battery I had go south on me was a trustfire 18350, and I was using a 1.5Ohm Carto tank on the mod!

it is not a name but a prediction of what is going to happen.
Other than the congestious tard, and the bash tard with a modified switch the only batteries I ever heard about going kaboom in mods were fire named batteries.
In fact I think there is even one where it was found it the innards were found to be powder with a pair of aa wired in series inside.
