Not all the way in, but it's a pretty good dent. It still charges, but should I just toss this one?

Pics please... some dents are not an issue.. other than over exuberant user. Others can lead to danger.
As with all battery concerns... When in doubt throw it out.

Like I said, it charges fine. Maybe I'll stick to regulated mods with this one.

That battery should be recycled. That is a major dent in the positive contact. There are negative parts under the positive cap that could short out. Spend the 5 bucks and get a new battery.
Yeah... do not use that battery in anything! It's been said, but I gotta say it again. No regulated mod, no charger, nada... Definitely put some electrical tape over the + & - , and safely dispose of it at a Best Buy or elsewhere that will properly take care of it.
To be clear, as was said, that's a short waiting to happen... A regulated mod cannot protect you if the problem is physically with the battery. If it dead shorts at the battery, It shorts. And you get results that nobody wants.

You must've tightened the shit out of the button to make a dent like that. The rule is: if it needs tightening more than a fraction of a turn and/or require more than your thumb and your pinky to tighten it up, it's too tight. The idea is to remove any play to prevent rattling, and that requires almost no force. The quality of the actual electrical contact when you take a toke has nothing to do with that.
Either that or your button is exposed on your mod, it was unlocked and you dropped the mod from some height right on it. But I doubt it, else you'd know.

FYI, I have a very similar dent in one of my four iJoy 20700 batteries. It isn't stopping me from still using it in my Vaperz Cloud XXX stack... that's because as you can see in the picture of the cross section I posted there simply IS no way that it can cause a direct hard short. In addition to that, the top is not touching the venting disc underneath, there is still plenty of room there so in no way will it keep the battery from venting the way it should be venting in the event that it does start to vent.
