Considering buying a redeemer purge squonk- the delerin one.
Looks to see if anyone has a bad or good opinion on it before plopping down the funds.

I'm currently using a boxer 21700nas a daily driver because of its durability. I'm trying to decide if I want to get a new one or something different around the same price.
Any other recommendations are welcome.

I have one and unfortunately the one I received shouldn’t have left Purge. All 4 body magnets were not glued in, the 510 was only finger tightened to the mod so when I unscrewed my rda the 510 came with it, the door doesn’t sit flush with anything other than a 21700 which does fit in well, and there was a pretty large scratch under the fire button. It does function well even with the quirks.

Is it the redeemer?
So I
The 21700 fits...
Has their customer support been involved with the issues?
Do you know if issues are common?

Yep it’s a Redeemer with a green door, I got it from EightVape last year. A 30t fits in and can easily be removed. I didn’t call customer service as I glued the magnets in and honestly I’d have a hard time listening to a response with as many issues as it had. I really wonder if it wasn’t a QC test that was massively failed and wasn’t intended to leave in the first place.

Hmm shocked to hear those issues still made it out the door.

I was pumped when I got it but after a couple days I started to look at more objectively and was like wtf. I typically buy stuff used so it’s a lesson learned for me.

I bet! I usually buy used as well. Figure its field tested already so any problems would have come up already.
Fact that I'm buying this or a boxer new is why I'm asking. I have a boxer as an EDC, so I know its pretty sound duevice, but I found these on sale and am tempted.

21700s don't always fit the purge squonks. On mine, the door won't close with one installed. They are labeled as 20700 compatible, so no guarantee on the 21s.

The weak point on these mods seems to be the 510. Mine was very slightly leaky when I got it, and had to do a little tinkering to get it to stop, lots of spares are included so no biggie. Being a spring loaded 510, it does have some voltage drop, but not a whole lot. It is very close to how the VA Spade hits. Overall it's a good mod, and worth having especially if you can snag one for under $100.

My spare bag came with a few various orings and a extra insulator.

Ended up ordering the redeemer after @JuicyLucy twisted my arm and forced me to get it

Figure if a 21700 doesnt fit, I'm intuitive enough to make it

A little bit of sanding can go a long way, shouldnt need to sand more than 1-1.5mm of material off. I thought about fitting the 21s to mine, but it didn't bother me enough to motivate me into doing something about it. The Sanyo 2070C is a suitable battery for my needs, so I just run them in it.

Im sure you will enjoy it, it is a nice mod overall. I was just nitpicking the little things to give a fair assessment.

I greatly appreciate the nitpicking. Let me rephrase, I want to see someone that nitpicks a mod. The little things make the biggest difference to me.

i had the magnet problem also, glue fix's it. i put 21700 in mine, but the door does rock a little, not enough to bother me. if you are skilled with a dremel a 21700 will fit easy. .. i found the edges to be sharp, a little sanding makes a big difference, so little that it would hardly be seen. one thing that will make it work better is to bend the fire bar so that it wraps around the round contact a little, i have yet to do this, but i will.

It is worth doing. Made a noticable difference for me.

Did you wrap that around something, use regular pliers?
Teach me master jedi.

i am going to makes die's to press it round. a few drill bits, a small block of wood and a hammer or vice. oh, and a saw for the wood.

That’s exactly my concern
What sort of build do you run on yours?

Maybe use a socket the same size as the connect. Then some pliers to bend it around the socket. If any this marred it would possibly be the edges facing the button side not the contact side.silver bends fairly easy

I’ll try and find anything round close to the same size as the positive contact on the 510.... that’s right, no sockets. I need to turn in my man card

Hell man there's a lot of people that don't have sockets. Maybe something closer to an 810 drip tip.

I'll take a look and see, I have enough junk laying around that I'm sure something will work as a good template.

I found an old bolt (or something) to use as a mandrel. It was the same size as the circular contact. I then used a scrap piece of leather to protect the back side of the flat contact from tool marks. I then proceeded to beat the hell out of that thick chunk of contact around the mandrel, then worked it with some pliers. I rotated between those two methods until I was happy with it. My goal was to increase surface area for the contacts so they make more solid of a connection.

mine looks to be silver coated copper. there are a few places the silver is coming off.
It is supposed to be silver plated .
I didn't see anywhere that said what was under the silver, but I'm assuming copper

its copper, no doubt. i filed a little angle on the end, because the bar does not touch parallel , it was copper.

ok, i did mine just now. i figure the pics will speak for themselves.

thanx. but not worth $40, to me. i had actually thought about stripping the silver and polishing the copper.
If you get 18guage it's 32 plus shipping. I used a 26g in my orca and it's just fine. Wouldn't think you'd need it as thick as the Rig squonk

yeah. even so, copper is good, and in my case, the Ultem, i think a polished copper would look better anyway.

The silver plating is chipped off on one spot on my negative contact. Definitely copper under there. It's not a super thin coating either, it will hold up to polishing well. It probably would look better in the ultem models if it was polished copper. But I am going to keep it on there the best I can for ease of maintenance. Raw copper needs more attention than the silver plating.

the forming bit is .390"ish , the hole bit is somewhere around .440"ish. anywhere around those #'s will do the job. and i bet just a hammer will do fine.

You mean hammer the contact into the slot you drill?

yeah, its on there good, i tried using the buffer to remove it, i stopped. though i could have put the more abrasive compound on and did it. but it is pretty thin, look at the sides of the fire bar, there are 2 small places that are not coated = where they held the part while coating it. and i tried polishing it, didn't go well, but i am not claiming to be a professional metal finisher, or anything else for that matter :giggle:

yeah, use a hammer instead of the vice. use a vice if you can. the wood didn't mar the silver at all.
Figure I could drill thr hole then wrap the but with a piece of cloth or leather. Place the contact over the slot with the bit in front of it and whack the but through the contact into the slot.

Thank you guys for your help!
It came in today, I did the co techs trick, no loose magnets, and the 21700 fits perfect without any door issues.
