My apologies if this is in the wrong forum...
My setup was a SMOK Alien with the Baby Beast RBA. My B&M had a sweet deal on the SMOK TF-RTA G4 (less than $20) so I scooped it up. The G4 has 4 pre-made fused clapton coils in it. Nice clouds and flavor IMO, but at 60-70 watts. One can argue that the BB is better, but hey.
Anyways, when I put the TF-RTA on my Alien, I noticed that the amps were a hair over 21 on a 3-second draw at 3.7 volts. I have LG2 18650's that are rated at 20 amps. I don't "chain vape" as I take a pull maybe once every minute or so for about 30 minutes driving to and from work and while watching the tele at night. The tank gets noticeably warm (I think they all do), and the mod gets pretty warm but only for about 10-15 seconds before it's cool to the touch again.
Eventually, I'm going to place my own regular kanthal a-1 coils in it. Higher resistance and I usually vape that at 45 watts on my BB, but with 4 coils it may require more watts to fire without significant ramp.
Am I taking a risk here? With vaping, I don't like taking risks. Risks have you squeezing ketchup with your other hand forever.
Thanks!
