Exotic animals is usually a good way to get it confiscated. Same with and I quote "Freshly harvested Organs". Generally keeping it simple and not saying anything is best practice. Auto parts is always an easy one.

When you send vape gear to that you've sold or traded what do you say when they ask you what's in the package? If it's a mod I say electronics, but what do you say if it's a atomizer?
I've shipped a number of mods and atty's to the U.S from Canada and have never had an issue with them clearing by simply putting "electronics"

I just tell them it's an alternative pleasure giving device......

And the clerk usually grins (smile broadly, especially in an unrestrained manner and with the mouth open).

If you are sending it within the US to a US address, why are they asking you what's in it?

Mine makes us say yes or no if there is anything flammable or liquid (hint, they clarified, under 4 oz of liquid is not counted as liquid, lol)

I always just say no

I've mailed to Canada/UK

On the customs form if sending a regulated mod I've put "Video Game Controller"

If sending a tube mod. "Flash Light extension"

Within the US I always send via the Kiosk and the prompt is always no to flammables or lithium Ion batteries.

Thing I dislike about the Post Office the most is that they hide the other Priority Rate boxes... the small flat rate is generally more than it would be if sent in the larger "Hidden" boxes...

For instance, the Small Flat Rate is $7.90 2 day US and sometimes that thinner box just isnt big enough right? well...

The 1096L sometimes costs less... but they don't have them out in the shelves with the others...why you ask? cause normally it costs you $6.25 to ship using the 96L... compared to the $7.90 ;) and if you use the Flat Rate, you accept the charge cause well its a set fee...sneaky bastards right?

Anyhoo

why are they asking you what's in it?

I've always used a shipping place near my house and they've always asked. Hell I thought it was standard procedure. Also figured that if I said vape stuff that there may be an issue. May have to revisit how I ship.

Within the US I always send via the Kiosk
Stupid question number 2. What kiosk? At the post office? I haven't actually gone to a post office in years.

I shipped your tank at a kiosk. It measures and weighs it, you accept the weight, and when you start typing in the address, a box will pop up that finishes the address for you. They're watching youuuu o_O. Then, when you're done, it spits out the postage and tracking stickers. Super handy dandy, and that area is open 24/7 since the PO boxes are all in there. Only had an issue there one time, because someone's box got lodged in it and the drop box thing wouldn't open.:cuss2: Luckily, what I mailed that day fit into the letter slot.

If there are li batteries or liquids in there you are SUPPOSED to declare those. Aside from that no problems.

I use USPS Click 'n Ship to create and print a label.

It shows all of the box/envelope options, package options, pay via PP, etc.
They just have a little box to check saying you aren't sending prohibited items..derr..

They'll even send you free boxes/mailers and also can schedule a pickup with your regular mail for your packages. Simple as Pie and you don't have to wait in lines or deal with humans at all..

I've been using the 2-day Priority padded 9x12" envelope for years, just $8 to about anywhere CONUS.
(yes the prices went up, used to be $6-7)

When I have shipped in the US I am always asked about Hazardous Materials or Liquids and have to attest to it. Never had a problem shipping e-Liquids and being honest.
