Question About Sweeteners (Stevia) What Do You Use?

I have seen more than a few mentions of using Stevia as a DIY sweetener. I have never used anything other than a tad of EM for a sweetener up to this point. My question is what form and/or brand do you use? I have seen Stevia extract in the grocery store in the little plastic bottle like the water enhancer flavoring come in (Mio and the like) is this sufficient, or do I need to go another direction for this? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The liquid ones in the stores have alcohol in them. Got some stevia crystals but have not played with them much.

I use Stevia combined with EM.
Used to use 0.5% Stevia and 0.5% EM, but lately I've dropped Stevia to 0.25% since it seems I don't need my juice to be as sweet as it use to be.
In any case it's less sweet then those pre made juices that are packed with Sucralose.

Too much EM will mute the flavor and too much Stevia will leave a bitter after taste, but a small amount seems to have none of these side effects and end up being sweeter then a bigger dosage of one of them.

Stevia comes in grades which are based on the percentage of Rebaudioside A in it, which is the sweetest and least bitter of the Rebaudiosides.
The brand I'm using is called Stevinol and is 97% Reb-A.
You are most likely not going to be able to find the same brand, but the precentage of Reb-A should be visible on the label and the higher the better.

I checked the same thing not too long ago and after researching the product that I was thinking of using had some preservatives and other things in it that I wasn't comfortable putting in my vape juice. I know other people that have used it but I decided I wasn't going to. I rarely sweeten any of my mixes now. My taste has changed to accept flavorings without sweetener added. I mixed some of my favorite recipe up not long ago and used sweetener according to my old recipe and it was just too sweet. Not saying you shouldn't sweeten your juice if you want, just sharing my experience.

That's odd, Stevia doesn't need preservatives at all, it should only be composed of VG and steviol glycosides which do not ferment or spoil.

I may be mistaken, but I'm thinking it was @Heabob who mentioned a new type of sweetener from Amazon. If it wasn't him, we may never know, so hopefully it was And he'll chime in...lol!
I virtually never use sweetener unless 1.) I'm mixing up someone else's recipe and it includes it. I'll mix them the way they're written the first time, then tweak to my taste and usually drop the sweetener, or 2.) I'm shooting for a straight up candy taste.
If I'm gonna use a sweetener, it's sucralose. I've had my 30ml bottle for about a year, and there might be 4ml gone out of it.

In case the above link doesn't post, I think this is the stuff. Maybe in another form, but I do remember this is the name.

Thanks, Teresa! I do seem to remember that being mentioned a while back. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to use any sweeteners but have seen different ones, Stevia in particular, and was wondering just what the deal was with it.

I seem to remember there was some talk of a new vaping sweetener for a short while, but can't remember it's name.
What I do remember is that it's a type of sugar alcohol and is not nearly sweet enough to be a viable option.

EDIT: just remembered it's Erythritol

The monkfruit does come in a liquid form, and I did notice this in the description...
  • Contains only two simple ingredients: monk fruit juice concentrate and citric acid

Using citric acid in vaping is not really a good idea, it decomposes at relatively low temp (347F), that's why sour flavors contain malic acid instead.

Didn't like any of them.
I use NOW brand Better Stevia in Glycerite(VG).
Doesn't have any extra junk in it.
Find it on Amazon.
Can be mixed 50/50 with PG to make it easier to work with.
Thank you, sir! :D (I knew you'd know.... ;) )
