Question on percentages

Hello everybody!
My question, if anybody can please help, has to do with the percentages os flavors to add in the vg/pg base.
When recepies say 1% or 2% does it mean that if I want to make 10ml of juice:
10 ml base + 1% ou 2% of flavourings which would come out to 11 or 12 ml?
or
9 ml base + 1% flavouring which would be the 9.9ml (10ml) of juice to be made?

Im a complete noob and only bought 9 flavors FA
if anybody can also give insight on what to try to make with what I have (standalone or mixed) it would be greatly appreciated!
-tiramisu
-jamaican rum
-peppermint
-strawberry
-catalan cream
-butterscotch
-wild berries
-star anise
-vanilla tahiti
Thank you all for your help!

Easiest to use one of the calculators. Here's an online calculator that I use. But no, amounts and vg/pg base are adjusted to provide the targeted strength and flavor percents. So, for example, starting with 36mg/ml nic and wanting 10ml of 10% vanilla and 11% mg/ml nic would yield: 3.1 ml of nic, 1ml of vanilla, and 5.9ml of vg/pg.

Best advice I can give is try them all stand alone. Then decide which you like as a main flavor. Check your math. 1% of 10 mL is 0.1 mL. 1 drop from a flavor bottle can be from 3-5 % per mL. Start with small batches, instead of mixing 10 mL try 1 drop of flavor in 3 mL of your base..

Im sorry, my math was off =) (facepalm)
100ml +1% flavouring would give me the 101ml
99ml + 1% flavouring would give me the 99.9ml

Thank you very much for all your replies, maybe i will try all standalone for starters, but if anyone has any good ideas on what could be made from these few flavors feel free to reply!

Happy holidays!

My understanding of the percentages is it is a percent of the total you want to end up with. Since I am new and like simple, I mix 10 mls at a time. And the math is easier. So if I wanted to make strawberries n cream (mixed it last night) it would look like this,
.2 ml's strawberry
.1 ml fresh cream
9.7 ml's vg/pg/nic base
or
2% strawberry
1% Fresh Cream
97% vg/pg/nic base

Hope this is more help than confusion.

Have you read HIC's reviews on these flavors in the DIY Reviews section? If not, I'd start there. SUPER information. I use those frequently for when I mix something new to me.

You chose some excellent flavors, there, friend. Rummy Tiramisu! Wild berries and Anise! Love that little anise flavor, yum! Strawberry!! So kind to tastebuds. You've got a good start with those. Have fun playing :)

Thanx everybody! Im gonna start it after dinner, your help has been great! Im gonna look into the recepies also to see if anything shows up that i can whip up with these.

Ill try to post what I think of what I got =)
