Can I use brasso to clean the contacts?

Do I only clean the battery contact pin and the contact pin for the 510 to the mod and battery, both sides?

Thanks

Take it apart as far as you can and clean every single part. Brasso for brass, ketchup for copper and hot soapy water for everything else. Brasso works great on brass, but sucks on copper. Ketchup works great on copper, but sucks on brass. Stainless and plastic parts only need dish soap and water.

Edit- forgot aluminum. I use brasso on that.

Alcohol does nothing for tarnish on brass or copper. Not sure what metals you're trying to clean, but you need to remove any oxidation. Alcohol won't do that.

Most 'clones' are plated mystery metal, not brass or copper...

Thanks. The contacts are still shiny so I wasn't sure if I needed to do anything with them yet. An eraser sounds good.

@Neunerball So I guess I can't go to an office supply store and buy one of their giant erasers as it will probably not be sand based?

Thanks everyone. I need to take it apart and inspect it for tarnish. I haven't done that yet. Great info.

I haven't checked any office supply store. However, they should have something like it. Any eraser with sand will do. Just make sure to get all the rubber and sand out of your mod, that rubs off.

As long as the contacts are shiny, you don't have to do anything.

I think they are shiny. I really think it was the mod I used. It wasn't performing on my regulated so it wouldn't perform right on the mech. I have redone it just not tried it again. Too lazy. I will be trying it this Saturday after working all week.

Cape Cod metal polishing cloths work great on almost all metals, and it doesn't smell like chemicals. I polished my solid copper manhattan clone mod to a mirror finish. Cleans up stainless really nice to look like new again.

There are all kinds of things you can use most use some form of grain alcohol
Everclear is best as long as you do not drink most of it..
With the center pin I myself like to actually use very very fine sandpaper to sand the top what I do is not necessarily what will work for you

Most clones are not plated mystery metal. Insulting me doesn't change that. Keep putting your ignorance on display if you want.

Wow. Not sure how you could take what I said as an insult, but I guess some are not only gullible, but quite sensitive, as well...

That's not true at all do you know how cheap Brass and Copper are? As well as most grades of Stainless.. I see you are back to Hip shooting again.
