Hi All, so I'm now building and want to explore unregulated box mods.
MOSFET protected-does it mean that it sort of limits the current drawn from the battery which makes it kind of safer but also weaker?
& Second I have been trying to find 1 on the market under $50 USD and so far only like the bigfoot box mod. I'm also keeping an eye out for the tesla 2. Does anyone have these and could give me pros and cons? I like box mods with a clean look and does not have glue all around it lol, any suggestions as well with links that ship to Canada would help. Many thanks in advanced.

A mosfet is kinda like a relay. The fire button sends a signal to the mosfet, the mosfet turns on and lets power go from the batteries to the atomizer. That way the mosfet carries the current, not the fire button. Most of the electronic switches used on mods are designed to send signals, not be part of a high current circuit. Mosfet's are designed to be the on/off switch in high current circuits. They are turned on and off by a seperate switch (fire button) which uses very little power to signal the mosfet. So basically a mosfet protects the fire button from failing so it doesn't weld itsself together and continuously fire. Hope that makes sense.

This helped a lot thank you very much. I wonder why people dont like mosfet protected devices then

Yup, comes with a sled for 18650's that just slides into the existing sled. It has a really nice mitech switch.

Sweet, do you have this mod yourself? Find any cons or is it just that sweet? :p

I do have this mod, from this same website, they have great customer service and shipping. I personally don't have any cons to speak of, but I am not that nit-picky on the small shit. Some people may not like the battery cover. When you have 26650's in there is a small gap and its a little wobbly. Not a big deal with me at all. It is Mosfetted, which to answer your question above makes it less of an "unregulated" mod. True unregulated would be a mechanical, no wires or circuitry. With the mosfet depending on which one is used the "Hit" isn't like a shotgun blast, like a mech would be. Again not a problem with me.

I found it cheaper here and I don't mind the long wait. Does this look authentic?

Thank you! Last question I promise, does it have holes for battery venting?
