So I twisted Youde Technology 26 gauge kanthal wire. When I fired my coil I accidentally fired it in temperature control mode. I took it out of tempature control mode right after I noticed it now every time I fire the rda with a new coil it catches fire I tried my other rda with the same twisted wire it also catches fire. I tried a normal coil in the first rda I accidentally fired it tempature control mode and that also catches fire can someone please help me figure out what's going on?

Wow, now that is something. I've never heard of anything like this, what kind of mod were you using? *Most* mods will automatically default to "power" mode when they can't sense a coil in TC mode. What I'm wondering is if maybe, just maybe, you fried something in the mod and now it is just dumping the battery when you fire it? Even if this were the case, it shouldn't catch fire immediately though. How long were you firing it before it caught fire? Regardless of what is going on, I would recommend rebuilding all of your rdas and using a different mod until you figure it out. Also check all of your insulators and make sure they aren't melted or damaged, although any regulated mod should detect a short too, but it sounds like there is definitely something wrong with yours and the protections may not be working properly. I don't have any other ideas at the moment, sorry! HTH!

It is waaaaay too early to be calling in Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen ... they aren't due for another few months! LOL
So true, not ready to summon the man in the red suit. I know a lot of people that know a lot about TC and couldn't recall names, so went from the hip. Thanks for popping in!!

LOL! I wish I had better help to give, but catching fire is a new one for me. I've never had a mod do that myself!

Can you supply a link to the mod in question?

The more info we have to work with the better we can help you!

Thanks guys but I figured it out I was building on the ipv d2 and I was use to building on my 30w mod and I needed 28 gauge and a bigger diameter coil I was previously using 26 not 28 and the thinner wire apparently doesn't distribute the heat well enough and catches fire at higher watts I'm good now and vaping haha but thanks though
