So I've been seeing more and more people using "RC Batteries."
Some "Li-Po"
Some "Ion"

They claim that the RC Battery is much safer than any other battery used for vaping right now, including your standard VTC5 18650...

I'm curious if anyone else here has some information that would be useful or educational for me. I'm not new to vaping, building, or anything of that nature. But I am beyond new to these batteries.

Thanks in advance!

They aren't safer, they are just a different chemistry. Some RC folks on the forum have had their LiPO packs ignite after a crash or while charging.

Like zamzam said, its not a safety thing its a totally different type of cell. I'm not sure what pushed vaping into the 18650 imr as a standard, but, I would imagine kt was because of the availability and portability of the cell over that of the lipo.
Some lipo cells are about equivalent in volatility as the old ''trustfire'' would be, and its a personal preference issue as well,
Personally I like the idea of a lipo and some of the potential applications it can have, just like anything vaping if you're considering it, research the cell and don't overdraw it's spec or abuse it and you should be fine.
I would also say if it comes in a radioshack RC car it should probably stay there- just sayin.
