OK, I have been using a Trident V2 clone I purchased from fleebay and it has worked great for me, I went to the local B/M and was getting some juice when I noticed they had a bin full of clearance RDA's and noticed a bunch of Trident V2's in there so figured I would grab one since they where dirt cheap to use for testing DIY juice.
I took it apart and washed it a few times to clear any oil from it and then threw it on the ohm tester to make sure it wasn't faulty (shorted) once I seen it was good to go I dropped a micro coil on it burned the coil in and tweaked it to my liking and wicked it. I set it up with the same juice I have been using all week and took a hit YUCK nasty taste to it, also it doesn't fit together near as well as my first one, you have to fidget with it to get the top cap on but it will go on. The air holes on the second one where tiny so I bored them out to the same as the first one to help that out.
I tore it apart again and washed it several times, smell it and its clean, no machine oil smell and tried it again, better the second time around but not acceptable so I tear it all down again and soak it in vinegar for a couple hours then wash it out and rinse it out really well again. After putting it all back together again and matching the coil type/wick/juice to my first Trident and using the same tip it still will not produce the flavor the first one will. I know it was machined at a much lower quality but I am guessing whatever they used to make this thing was junk also since my first one has great flavor when vaping. Just to make sure it wasn't something in my head messing with me I set the Trident that wasn't working out up and asked the wife to come in and try it, she says it tastes OK, then I put the good Trident on and asked her to try it and she said that tastes great.
Funny how two clones can be so different, one it fantastic and the other is heading to the trash can.
