Re: Nicking the battery

Good day! New member here. As a new vaper, I would just like to know more regarding battery safety. As I was removing my batteries from my MC2 charger one of them got nicked. It's a little tiny but I do not want to take the risk. Is this tiny nick already a cause for concern? If so, would covering it with electrical tape be just as safe as completely rewrapping it again? I'm using this with the Joyetech Cuboid 150w mod, btw. I have uploaded a picture of the battery.

You can get by with some tape on it until you can get it re-wrapped.

I would rewrap that one, but tape will work until you do. Wrapping is easy, especially if you have a heat gun, or even a blow dryer. Neither are wraps hugely expensive. FDV sells 100 of them under 3 bucks.

Only thing more dangerous about tape is that it can get yanked off easier than a wrap can be ripped, be aware and careful with that and it's no problem at all.

I just ordered these late last week, 2 different color wraps, some insulators and the shipping with tracking came out to ~$5 I think. That should be enough wraps to last me quite a while (plus now my batteries look silly in clear wrapping). Very easy application, as a man without a hairdryer or heat gun I ended up just using a lighter and keeping the battery 6inches above the flame as I rotated it around until it all tightened up. Just make sure to give it plenty of distance, you're trying to heat it not burn it :D, but the hairdryer would have been more ideal, less risk of stupidity and no burnt thumb:cuss2:

Ilumn / Battwrap / IMRBatteries = 0.06mm wraps
RTD Vapor / FatDaddyVapes / FastTech = 0.08mm wraps

If you own a mod with circular battery compartments, too much tape in the wrong places can cause your batt to get stuck.

(My wife's Nebox has a taped 25R stuck in it. Now it's passthrough charging only. The good news is that it freaked me out enough that I bought wraps.)
