Readyxwick life?

I looked up the readyxwick stuff, & reading about how people here swear by it; I wanna give it a shot. But I'm curious about the lifespan of it, & if it's cheaper in the long run. Currently I'm using braided silica that I've had for a few months. I've probably got 4 inches left off the first foot. How long would the same amount of readyxwick last?

i watched the posted videos and was so intrigued i ordered some 3mm for the other half , and 2mm for myself...
its supposed to last about 150 days, Mr. Colvin switches his out every 30 days...
either way its a longer life than cotton or ekowool...
i also would like to hear about real world users experiences for longevity in dripping attys and kayfun/russian devices

It's late, was a long day, & I'm tired.
Just so I understand : 1 wick of RXW is good for up to 150 days? If that's the case, then I'm in.

I have been using xc116 (readyxwick) since April of this year, and I have yet to throw out a wick. That is what I love about it, you can just keep reusing it over and over. I definitely think its worth the cost.

I have been using it in all my attys. The cost was not really a factor if the flavor was better, and it is! No comparison, waiting for silica to breakin. I don't use cotton so can not compare.
I am using the same wick on my RM2 for 6 weeks. No signs of it going bad in the near future. I suspect the 1/2"-3/4" length will last for sometime yet! I switched out some on another A7 atty after about 4 weeks. I have found torching it too much can make it mushy and it seems to break down faster. Thats my experience!

I have been washing it with really hot tap water and pat it dry with a paper towel, change flavors and good to go. After you vape for a few hits the excess water drys off and the juice wicks through. It seems to last longer for me that way.

I have gone through more wick by it being wasted on trail and error builds, rather than it going bad. and that was to be expected.

@VapedCrusader - it can be used in any type of atty just like silica or ekowool only no side tatse or breakin taste. It does wick better after breakin like any other material.

It is not the best for making very sharp bends in your wick, but I have had no problems with regular RDA dripping attys. I originally started using it in an atomic and use a rectangular type micro coil with 2 strands of the 2mm wick. I just seem to like that set up best.

The key is not to wrap it tight. Best to make the coil oversize and thread the wick in with lots of room to move around. I had wasted some by just wrapping the wire right over the wick with a 1/16 drill bit inside the core. It still breaks the fibers off from the wire being wrapped around.

Flavor is unmatched in my opinion and I could never go back to anything else.

i hope this helps you!

Good info guys. Very helpful. I've still got about 2 feet left of my 3mm silica & lots of 2mm. Once I get low, I'll be ordering some RXW.

Definitely do so. I've been using the same wick for a good while now. I originally bought a few feet about a year ago and i still have most of it left. All you have to do is torch it and it's like new again. Just about the only thing which causes it to need throwing out is excessive fraying caused by wear and tear, but that takes just about forever if you're not actively roughing it up.

I would recommend getting the XC-116 as well as some of the XC-132, just because some applications may need a smaller wick. But for most purposes, the XC-116 is fine. It is thick! But unless you're rebuilding Evod heads it'll generally fit well enough.

Just don't shop around. There are vendors who claim to treat the material enough (it absolutely must be kiln-treated, at temperatures approaching that of our sun, for many centuries), but personally i only trust RBASupplies.

Been using the same wick for about 4 or so months. Dry fire the coils once a week, hit it with some water and let it dry overnight. If I'm changing the coil, I torch it white then put it in the new coil.
