Resurrecting Crown SS stock coils

So, I seem to have burned a relatively new Crown .5 coil and before I threw it away decided to give laundering it a chance. Figured I had nothing to lose.

I placed the burned coil in a small dish of cool water and let the faucet run a little bit into the dish for about ten minutes. I blew the coil out and set the coil to dry. After a full dry, here in Nevada a full day, primed the coil and loaded it into the tank again and lo and behold the coil works without the burned taste. Apparently there may be enough cotton in these coils to wash them like your cotton clothing :). Of course, YMMV.

Glad to hear this! I have two coils I killed in a week, although they don't look burned, and I was thinking of chucking them in the UC for a few cycles - going to give that a try now :)

Washed coil lasted only three days. But, it was three days more than I had.

No luck with mine, but I'm going to try again. This time I took a coil and rinsed it under hot, running water then stuck it back in the UC. I do hope I can get at least another day out of mine!

I've tried a few different ways with not much luck either. I thought the UC would do the trick but not so much.

Amanda. How's you 1.2 crown coils treating you. I'm on the fence. Flavor is nice at 30w max. Vapor is not bad. Just seems a little anemic overall but I can't place why or what

I think the 1.2 is not that different from using the 0.5 at 30 watts! My favorite are the 0.25 but everyone is out of them at the moment (which is why I was hoping to resurrect the ones I have) :-(

I just ordered a pack from Ebay - lots there. A little more than we've had to pay in the past ($13.88 shipped) but at least they have them! FT has them, but it's a 9 day wait....not for me LOL

Boiled mine, cup of water,1/4 teaspoon of salt boil for five minutes, remove and place it upside down on a couple of sheets of writing paper over night. I'm using a boiled .25 now for 4 days. It was really used up.

I've been doing this method for quite a while now with all my pre made coils, works most of the time with all of them.

The only way to know if it works for you is to try it!

I've never been able to get more than a tankfull out of a carefully cleaned coil, but then again I vape mine until they get very hot and put more juice through them in a day than some do in a week:p

I can usually get another week out of a yucked coil head by either boiling it or running it in the ultrasonic cleaner with heat.
