Rice Cooker - Heat Steeping

So I have 120ml plastic bottle sizes that I tried to heat steep in my rice cooker on the warm setting. This is my first time trying this method after being urged by friends to give it a shot.

I put the bottles in zip lock baggies, filled my rice cooker with water and let them sit on the 'keep warm' setting overnight while I slept. I woke up this morning and went to check on them. It looks like the bottles are slightly bowed, warped and rounded on the bottom now. there was a tiny bit of water that looks like it seeped into the baggies. Not sure if it got into the bottles. But my bottles look extra full now.

My question is, does the pg/vg and juice expand with heat? Or did my bottles just shrink making them appear to be fuller? They are super thin at 70vg, but thats to be expected from the heat.

Did I just ruin all my juice??

Everything expands with heat. Also exposing your plastic bottles to heat like that will soften the bottles as well. The plastic could leach into the juice. I don't think this is a wise idea, maybe only using glass bottles.

You should never use plastic bottles to heat steep. Glass is the way to go.
I would not want to vape that juice myself.

And IMHO, rice cookers are not even needed to cook rice.

My wife got one for Christmas a year ago as she was frustrated because cooking rice is the one cooking skill that excapes her.

I think she has used it twice.

The rest of the time she just asks me to make a batch of rice for her.

And if I have to leave town, I always make up a big batch for her to keep in the fridge.

Definitely not something I would do with plastic bottles.
