Right resistance for puppy drool max vg !

So my girlfriend has the menthol puppy drool & regular (kiwi strawberry for both) with the max vg.. I want to convince her to go with the prebuilt (kangertech occ for subox mini) 1.5 ohm as opposed to the .5 she's using.. but I don't wanna spit out what I don't know. What are yalls opinions?

Her problem is the atomizer gets dull after 2-4 days. Her wattage is at 17 & I'm trying to tell her .5 is for higher wattage even if the guide says it can go lower (it's all about the taste to her so that made sense for me) it taste burnt to go higher for her.. I was thinking that was because the kbox comes with regulated temp control, so it gets hot with her liquid at high wattage.

So I'm pretty sure I'm correct but I wanna make sure I have all my ducks before I assume I have enough *laughter for my corny joke*

Temp control only works if you are using the right wire type.

Yes, 17 watts is probably too low on a .5 ohm head. I think the low side for them is 25 watts (don't recall).

IMO, if she is that low with the watts, maybe she is using the wrong type of tank. My bet is she doesn't prefer DL hits, and she is still a MTL vaper. She will need to use higher PG levels if she switches to a MTL tank.

We're staying with our kangertech & it doesn't have any type of temp control. Thanks though cuz that's one reply that proves I'm not being dumb haha!

My sister vapes 100% VG with the .5 occ in a Kanger Nano tank with no issues of spitback or dry hits at 30-32w on her IPVD2..because she prefers MTL I think she vapes with the airflow open only about halfway...

The "dull" taste of the coil could come from the juice she uses too. Dark juices kills wicking and coils faster. I've never had good luck with the OCC coils lasting me very long anyway.

I never had any luck with max vg juices in those kanger occ coils, imo, they aren't made for that, the holes are just too small. 70/30 was pushing it (and if this is the Puppy Drool from Pitbull Vape, I'm pretty sure that's the ratio), and still got the occasional dry hit. I really don't think you'll get enough heat to thin it out enough to vape under 25-30w, preferably higher. But that's just me....

Thanks guys sorry for late reply.. I'm gonna start building her atomizers from now on.. the prebuilts were too expensive & too much of a waste of time lol. & yall are right, the juice isn't for the occ. I think I got the perfect set up for her...
