first you need to define the terms
rta is a tank with out premade coils usual
all rdtas are rtas imho
and there are 2 different things that are labeled rdta by the manufacturer
one is like the limitedless plus
theres an rda on top wicks like a genisis tank and the tank is underneath
then theres the things like the aromamizer which wicks differently then most rtas
the juice flows down under the deck and then is soaked up by the wicks
versus the coils going into holes that open into the tank
all of them can guzzle juice
single coils use less juice
i dont think one uses less juice
i use the same build in the 3-griffin 22mms , a griffin 25 mini and 2 limitless plues(plusi-damn need to figure out pluralization)
so 4 rtas 2 rdtas. I use them all day long and they use the same amount of juice
both styles have their advantages and disadvantages
i think its the coil and wattage that determines juice usage. but some attys can make it easier to take a build to higher wattage and if your juice will wick fast enough at higher wattges you will use more juice
so tanks with lots of airflow to cool the coil down while running at high wattages can drink more juice if you build it that way and use it that way with the higher wattage

Imo... Rta is just a tank and wick and coil plain and simple... A rdta is similar but rather the wick avoid being over saturates by your juice(if no juice control is present). I get a full on flavor on it and sometimes I would let my coils burn off the excess juice from the wick and drip ok top of it as a sample from other juices lol! That's how I use mine honestly =p
Kylin for clouds and travel (since it max at 6ml). While smm for flavor and it carries 4ml
An RTA is an atomizer that has a tank with a rebuildable deck, so you use your own coils and wicking material. An RDTA is an atomizer that has a tank with a rebuildable deck that can also be used as a dripper atomizer where, rather than retaining juice in a tank, you drip the juice directly on the coils/wicking material.
while I agree with your definitions 100%
there are people who insist since steam crave calls the aromamizers RDTAs, that those are RDTAs etc
so I like to add in that stuff for clarification even though it can be confusing
Theres even one RDTA that has the tank above the deck and you have to wick upwards and pump teh juice into the wicks
The terms get so mixed up by manufacturers its hard to tell what is what some days
The TYPE of atomizer has little to NO affect on juice consumption or for that matter battery life....... Both are directly related to the coil(s) size, how much power you feed them, and air you flow over them. The atomizer only comes into play where it might dictate parameters of the other factors. Where the coils are located and juice stored almost NO affect on how much juice you use. The higher the wattage and bigger the airflow the higher the consumption of both juice and power.
Sure. You may not get as good flavor though, depends on the atomizer and build.
Problem come in that some atomizers do have a minimum build requirements to perform.
True for example : serpent smm I build: fused Clapton 26x32 abiut 6-7 wraps at 2.5mm and I get about 0.5ohms of it. Meaning the wattage be sensitive and I vape at 40-50w
I keep tabs on what I build and if great I record it.
