RX2/3 vs IPV400

Looking for the a new portable mod. Been looking at the IPV400 due to its size but what has kept me from pulling the trigger is that it kinda looks like a toy with it's fake silver paint and it isn't firmware upgradable. Not a fan of the look or the idea that I can never upgrade the firmware.. Kinda hoping they come out with different looks.. But now I saw the RX2/3.. In dual battery mod it looks portable.. kinda like the look but I wonder if it is chip is as good as 330. What do you guys think RX2/3 or IPV400.. Or is there a better device on the horizon..

Or Should I wait for the IPV6x.. Does anyone know if the IPV6x is going to be the same size as the IPV400?

Get a dna

VAPE ON

I own two DNAs.. Not impressed with them.. especially the dna75.. worst buy i ever made. I do like the dna200 but still i am not that impressed with them.. evolve needs a new chip and a new screen.. DNA;s are getting dated. The dna75 was a rush to market I feel.. I don't see any new tech in it.. Vaping anything under .4 ohms suffers with it. Better off getting a dna200 which is not small and if it is small uses a lipo battery with terrible life... So don't want a another dna.. I am looking at a small dual 18650 for travel.. I think i am leaning towards the ipv6x for the chip and firmware upgrade.. But wanted to know what everyone else thought but there doesn't seem to be any interest in this thread.

The ipv400 performs awesome. I have 2 vt133s I love em but the size of the ipv is what made me get it, it's so compact and performs flawlessly. I also just preordered the ipv6x because of the performance of the 400. Get one you won't be disappointed.

You know why there's no interest?!
Cuz VAPERS knows what's good out there..
The DNA 75 is not for everybody and I respectfully disagree that it was rushed!
As long as you don't go back to the stinkies
I'm good with that... Goodluck cast!

Looking for something all together different, small and portable? I put to you the Hohm Slice:shades:. This bad boy with its updatable firmware fsk board it's really something! Temp control any metal! There is already a thread for this little gem. It will not break the bank either coming in at around $60 :D. I love it so much l cannot even bring myself to try my new Stout!

Really? Last time I looked into Hohms products they weren't there yet.. Have they upgraded to the point that everything is working properly?

I will have to check that out.. thanks for the tip.. I have been kinda on a buying strike as of late.. I can't stop myself.. Just bought the limitless lux and the smok h-priv.. already got the limitless lux. jeez thing is big.. I think it maybe over powered though.. I have to really drop the temp on it.. won't see the h-priv for about a month for I got that from china for about 30 bucks.. i just want one more mod.. waiting for the ipv6x to come out but I will def check out the thread on the holm slice.. I am also looking at pre coil system as well.. I am basically deciding between the smok tf4 and tf8.. tf8 sounds great but i don't want to vape at such high wattages.. anyway am getting off topic thanks for the tip

I do feel it was rushed. I noticed high ohms don't work very well on the 75. I also think it doesn't handle single battery very well. I think they just tweaked a dna200 chip to work with signal battery. which is having pitfalls. i mean hell the dna75 chip is the same size. i have read a new dna chip is on the horizon.. hopefully they get a new screen with some new tech in it.. Now i was kinda harsh on the dna200 considering it is still one of my favorite mods for temp control but I still stick to the fact that dna is getting dated and needs a new product with new tech in it.. I really feel the dna75 chip was put on the market to ride the dna200 wave.. kinda like a sequel to a great movie that isn't as good but was made to ride the popularity of the first movie.

What new tech are you looking for - flashing lights (lol)? IMO the DNA200 is the best chip out there. I've yet to see anything more technologically advanced. Best TC chip on the market imo. Evolv has announced the DNA250 but since I don't use the 200 watts I already have, 250 doesn't do anything for me. There is only so much a mod can do.

It can actually supply the power it advertises accurately. I like DC-DC which the DNA200 has (I don't care for PWM). It can accurately TC builds. It can allow you to add any wire you might be interested in. Other than that what else should a mod do? Some allow you to play games, to me that's just fluff to cover up for the fact they don't do what's important well. YMMV

I wouldn't mind a bigger screen myself , just so you could add a few more pertinent displays/ meters on the screen instead of having to pick through 3 and just having those , as far as a bigger dna , I would love to see a dna 133 therion or a vt75 style/shaped 133 . Just my 2 cents though

Love my Vt133, by far my favorite DNA. Hohm Slice is a purty lil beast and quickly became one of my favorite mods. I liked it so much I bought 2. Love my IPV5 so when the Ipv6x comes out I'm a buyer after the hype is all done. Dna 200, Yihi 330j, and FSK chips all do a great job with TC all in their own way. Warning about the FSK chip. It has a learning curve and does things a little differently than you are probably used to. The good news is there are a ton of people here that us the G2 and the Slice. So you have a lot of support and some really great threads here to help you out should you go down that path.

Jeez alot has happened on this threads.

What i out of the dna75 :
bigger screen
better menu navigation
higher then 6 volts
Better TC for SS

They haven't updated anything since the first dna200 chip came out. In my eyes they should have at least added a new screen or something. call it the DNA200s! Other companies are always coming out with new innovations in terms of better screen, new navigation etc.. The dna200 chip is a great chip but it is still getting dated.

As for everything else I was all set on the IPV6x but now I am seeing this new smok x-cube ultra.. it is very appealing.. It looks like it is smaller but fatter then the h-priv. It also has balanced charging which is great for travel.. wouldn't have to worry if i ever need to charge it via usb. I dont' know.. I want both..

Thankfully Evolv plays a little different game. They don't need a bigger screen or more doo dads. They just came out with an update that truly makes this chip shine in TC, a better vaping experience without the need to buy a new mod.

Personally, I would much prefer a bigger screen and I believe a lot of people share that opinion. SS316L is the number one TC used on the market.. all dna devices do SS316L poorly. SS430 TC on the dna200 is awesome but still it is hard to get. I'm not technical at all but I am betting it is a hardware thing about why it can't do it so well for it would have been fixed in a firmware if possible. I personally use alot of SS316L wire these days.. I don't mess around with other TC wire anymore so the dna doesn't really offer what i want.. almost all devices are great in power mode. So if you only do power and SS316L then the dna devices arn't what Im looking for. There are plenty of devices that outshine dna in SS316L. I get it man you love your dna. And you should for it is a great device.. But there are other devices out there that do certain things better then the dna. I will stick to it is getting dated

Maybe you should check out the new firmware update before saying Evolv (DNA200) does SS316 TC poorly.

PS I'd be interested to see how the SS316L TC graphs from the mods that you say do it better compare to the DNA200.

Thanks I have the latest firmware already. It is clear that you are a die-hard dna fan. Nice graph.. I have seen same results on my dna and I have also seen terrible results off the same atty with the same coil.. DNA is inconsistent with 316. Argue all you want. I am not the only one that notices the issue with 316L. You are the type that is so die hard dna that in your eyes nothing they do can be wrong.. You are too in love with your device to see any imperfections.. So this conversation will just be me pointing stuff out and you attacking..

The latest DNA200 firmware came out 2 days ago. Quote me one post from anyone that doesn't say the TC with 316L isn't as smooth as anything they have tried.

What's obvious is you seem to have an ax to grind against Evolv.

Cheers,
Steve

I also want to point out that his whole thing started with me asking between two devices. My question was about dual 18650 and size factor for travel. There is always that person person that has to weight in about the dna.. Even if dna was perfect there is still nothing out there that can offer the size factor I want with a dna chip. so there is no point in even bringing the dna up..

No particular axe towards evolv. do I believe it is becoming dated.. yup.. Would like to see some upgrades hardware wise. I dont' like my dna75.. yes this true. but i do like my dna200.. I vape 430 in it and love it.. just not so much with 316. But like I said with the whole die hard thing.. Nothing i say you will even consider.. You are too die hard. I don't believe the dna is the best thing since Velcro. You do.. That is fine.. As for the firmware only being two days old.. I don't see it.. link me to it.. I will get it and try it out and if it is doing 316 better I will be very happy. but i am not seeing any updates on my end.

Well the FSK and the Yihi chips are as good IMO. I don't mind my DNAs - I have a few HCigars. I like both the 133 and the 200 but I don't like the battery life on either of them. There are always trade offs. Now I love my IPV5 and will certainly pop for the IPV6. I have no issues with their temp control. I had the SX Mini Q and traded it (I did like it) for a Limitless tube, three sleeves, custom drip tip, battery and a Limitless Plus to top it. I could not resist. Too pretty a combo to pass on.

dude this is a early release.. I am a little hesitant to try this.. I guess I could try it on my dna75 since I dont' really like it anyway.. But very hesitant to try on my dna200..
I'm not saying you should. They are always early releases or test firmware when they first come out. I'm trying it to test it out. So far it's working well for me.

You asked where you could find it so I linked you too it. I have lots of DNA200 mods so I wasn't concerned with trying it on 1 or 2 of them. If you think it would be best to wait, then that's what you should do.

Cheers,
Steve

Been using The early firmware for a couple days now.. And I must say.. big improvement. It vapes SS316L the way I feel it should vape now.. No issues so far with the early firmware.. I am getting very consistent vape with it.. It isn't inconsistent anymore. Will Probably put it on my dna200 now.
